Re: Bryant at Hopkins

Mother's Day at noon, tough pull to try and sneak down to Homewood... My hope for Hop- 1. Angelus, please be aggressive and go to goal early and often, need 5 shots from him. It opens things up. 2. Work to get Collison and Grimes inverted from X on shorties and go to the goal, it makes good things h...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Re: Collison, everyone is wise to that sweep move now. He hasn't beaten anyone with that in the past 3 weeks. He's a good passer, maybe put him in situations where he's more of a threat to shoot or feed? They've done this with Grimes and he's been more effective. Agree, I don't remember many times,...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Based on the ebb and flow of the season, I never expected the win at Penn State. It was asking a lot with all the close wins. Couple of thoughts on the Hop O. They force and look to pass the ball inside way to much still and don't read that situation as well as they should for this time in the year....

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

5k attendance at Ridley. It was a perfect weather day for lacrosse and that facility is wonderful. My 2 cents from being in person: 1. Hop O did try many things to get easier looks (even in the 4th Q when they were picking down low a lot and getting into the middle of the field effectively) but the...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

hopkins d was very good in 6 v 6, but thought a number of those are goals if marcille wasn't gobbling or deflecting some quality shots I felt the same way. I assume Marcille is the surprise starter, based on what people thought with the transfer coming in? Perhaps, and I pray this is true, he can c...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Is Hopkins going to be able to find a >50% save goalie? Marcille had a brief flash as a possible savior at the end of 2021 but then disappeared in the depth chart this season. Webb? Make a bid for Demopolous? Excellent question and a differentiator for next year. As pointed out already, 50% doesn't...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

We were all excited when Jr was hired. Conceptually, yes. I liked the risk that came with this choice. PM, likely after some self awareness and self assessment, also a discussion with his boss, had a difficult conversation with Jr. That is the definition of leadership. If things do not fit the visi...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023

Prospective players want to understand what style of play and how they will fit into (or don't) that style as they decide on school. I hate that Hop has demonstrated very little desire to push transition offense. Most of us were taught to push transition, create odd man match up and execute. Always ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2022

I just want to thank you all who contribute to this thread constantly. I am a healthcare senior executive in Brooklyn, NY and things remain insane. This forum gives me 10-15 mins a day where I can forget I am at work and read about something I love. I suspect there are many readers that rarely post,...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

Best thing I heard Milliman say since he arrived is his instruction to the team not to worry about mistakes. Exactly, be dangerous, it's infectious. It just looked fun out there on the field the last two weeks. That perceived feeling and the positive energy being displayed made me smile and feel go...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020

16-thank you for the constant optimism. I want to believe too. I really, really do. I continue to believe that if you can get two mids, one on each line that can beat their guy consistently and either draw the slide or shoot and score on 30% of their shots off those dodges, it makes a significant di...

Re: CABRINI 2019

Those that know the program understand the talent that has been there. Finally in the big moments they played to their capabilities. They played their game to perfection and it was wonderful. From the 2nd half of the York game forward they had a spirit and belief that becomes hard to define and crea...

Re: CABRINI 2019

Yeah Cavs. You did it. Finally believed in making the team bigger than anyone and busted through. I saw the 2nd half vs York and thought this was the best all around performance I have seen in the last 10 yrs from Cabrini, especially given the timing. I will admit I did not believe beating the Gull...

Re: YORK 2019

I made it down to the scrimmages yesterday, anyone else? Deep, I did. I agree York looked very good in both games. I do believe however that neither Towson nor Bucknell played many starters. Several of their parents said things to imply that and Towson had 20 kids not dressed on the sidelines. Even...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)

Not much—last year's scrimmages were not very informative. Overall I agree with this statement but I did see Brock play very well last fall (especially the first half vs Army) and also saw a few frosh exhibit flashes that gave you the feeling they could make a difference. Both of those trends carri...

Re: CAC 2019

The grapevine is telling me several excellent recruits that were headed to Frostburg bailed late in the game to head elsewhere. My intel was this was more about the coach leaving than the move to D2. I think the 4th spot is wide open.

Re: YORK 2019

York vs Cabrini this year, a match up that I have been waiting for and seems to make sense. Looking forward to watching this one.
