Re: Inside Lacrosse ratings secret sauce?

Is there a way to ensure you get rated at an Inside Lacrosse event? I know people that have gone and not get rated. But, you need to go to one of their events to get rated. Anyone have the skinny on ways to ensure this happens? Do you have kid send highlight film and ask Ty to watch? Make All Stars...

maybe because it might be bad for the game, its growth, its enjoyment, you know, basic stuff...but hell, spend away because it doesn't have an effect on anything.... ;-)

fast growing sport, blah, blah, blah...so what. it grew from 2 or 3 (scale of 1-10) to a 4 or 5. it might have even recessed or corrected a bit recently. fastest growing sport...who cares, and what hard, concrete results can anyone show that the "fasted growing sport" is actually accomplis...

Re: What's up with all the RECLASS

The re-classes I see, and I see a lot, are typically the biggest strongest kids who are socially and academically up to speed. They are not, in most cases, kids who need a year to mature in some area of life. I have been a youth coach for a long time and often my best kids go off to a 3D clinic or ...

Re: Off-Topic- Will PLL Make It Big And Draw Great Crowds For Years?

I love lacrosse but its just never going to be a big time pro sport. MLL was a failure an PPL will not grow to be anywhere close to the NHL etc This isnt a slam on the sport its just the way it is !! Enjoy lacrosse for what it is not for what you want it to be and what too many people want it to be...

Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??

From Typical Lax Dad's post: >>>Today parents have been sold on this: If you want your kid to be good, you have to join a team. It is the opposite. You should work to be good so that you can make a team. You do know they now offer pre-tryout training to help kids (and parents) get better insight of ...

Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??

I read the recent posts, and I will add on to them: >>>>Now look at the "professionally" run club teams. Coaches think they're gods. They play favorites. Parents are paying the coaches on the side for "private coaching" and miraculously, their kids play more no matter how dreadfu...

Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??

Like I have written many times before on this board and others, greed and egos has and will kill this sport so that only the very wealthy and committed will be playing this sport. travel team and lax tourney owners (sometimes they are the same person/people) just need enough players to field a coupl...

Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??

The growth of the women's game outpaces the men's game. With the Pac12 sponsoring lacrosse and having 6 programs (plus SDSU, Fresno, and UCD having programs), the women's game is legitimately a national game. On that side of the docket, the growth is real and universities continue to add programs. ...

Re: Has lacrosse “bubble” started to pop??

You’re all missing it. I’m gonna talk for CT now. People are going broke all over the place. Greenwich is a financial bloodbath and anything further east is a burned out corpse. The lacrosse “core markets” and “hotbeds” are hurting economically right now. The youth lacrosse trade is horrendous. 1k ...

Re: PLL Launch (Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2)

Thoroughly unimpressed with the PLL - and MLL for that matter. I think the harsh reality is that the a professional lacrosse league is just not gonna happen. Lax is a niche sport with a very small fan base compared to soccer, football, baseball, NASCAR etc. Lax has been a " the fasting growing...

Re: Under Armour All-Americans

Fanlax999, not sure why all the hate, my son PG'd with a few others, yes they turned 20 freshman year but landed at Brown(2), G'town, ND, Harvard, NC. In my opinion, no great rush to work 40+ yrs. Alot of other non athletes are entering late as well with Gap years, taking 5 years to complete colleg...

19.5 and 20 year old hs seniors....anything to get a leg up on the competition for those coveted lax offers, right ;-)...Can't beat them, just drop down a grade or PG a year (or 2)....i know a couple of kids who are 2 years older than "normal" kids...One of those kids is mentioned on this ...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020

I am rooting for UVA in 2020 to bring home another championship. Love their style of play and their coach. BTW, my faint connection to Coach Tiffany came about 6-7 years ago when i bumped into someone at the airport who saw my kid wearing a lax shirt. i think he said he played back in the day in hs ...

Re: Under Armour All-Americans

Regarding reclassifying, a new trend I've seen is parents/kids "committing" to do a PG year after high school so club programs will allow the player to play down a year in summer/fall ball. For example, a 2021 player "commits" to do PG year and, therefore, would not enter colleg...

Re: Under Armour All-Americans

I know a bunch of kids in (wealthy) public schools that PG a year, and/or who while in public middle school repeat their 7th or 8th grade year. I know one private school kid who repeated 8th grade AND PG'd 2 years. He is listed as a top 50 player which is the biggest joke. He was a 2020 kid but rece...
