Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
Most D3 coaching jobs are NOT good jobs. They fall under the category of "ath-missions", meaning your #1 job is to increase enrollment for the institution. You're a glorified admissions counselor. Having the facilities, budget, staffing and other resources to run a successful program aren...

The MLC, at least for men, may not exist much longer. Re: ASUN 2024
Sort of ASUN related. Uh oh, I would not be surprised to see lax go at Cleveland State. It was the pet project of the last AD. Moving to the NEC may help reduce cost but could be that all scholarships are gone and run like a D3 model as a tuition play. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/crain%27s-clevel...

Re: MIAA 2024
Adrian, Hope and Albion results surprised me. Is the MIAA going to be a bit more open this season?

Re: MIAA 2024
3/1 Weekend Line-up - Thoughts? Kalamazoo - Kzoo need the win here. Don't know much about the opponent. Benedictine (IL) Adrian - Going to be a tough one, but I see Adrian on the rise and take care of this one. 3rd MIAA team for Yeo Oberlin Trine - Similar programs. Engineering cup at stake... lol T...

Re: MIAA 2024
Currently confused with the shift and state of Midwest ball. Don’t have my finger on it but head scratching results this past weekend and today… Seems like its the top of the NCAC. Then a group of similar teams in the middle like the MIAA, OAC, Mid-NCAC. Then some really, really poor teams. Overall...

Re: MIAA 2024
Adrian is the big surprise so far. Are they going to make a run at the title? Surprised that Hope struggled with Oberlin. I saw them play Trine and was not impressed. Trine was just sloppy with unforced turnovers and the clear or it would have been closer. Albion will probably be fine in conference....

Re: MIAA 2024
Interesting week, last week -
Albion hangs with Dennison
Adrian beats ONU!
Hope loss at Elmhurst is a surprise based on score
Calvin takes care of business
Trine struggled at Oberlin
Kzoo loss to DePauw is unexpected
Alma... oh my

Re: The Shrinking D1 Schedules
Midweek travel may be an issue for some teams. ND doesn't have a lot of choices for strong competition for a reasonable mid-week game. Michigan, Ohio State, Marquette? Cleveland State, Bellarmine, Robert Morris and Detroit Mercy are basically scrimmages for them. Are they worth playing? Kills your S...

Re: MIAA 2024
Reactions to the weekend:
Hope - Wow. IWU is no slouch. Big win.
Albion - Closer than I would have thought. Otterbein is mid-table OAC.
Calvin - Maybe a bit more of a beat down than I would have thought.
Trine - Handled UMD where Alma could not. Work to do there though.

Re: MIAA 2024
Do games against NAIA teams not count for the regular season? Alma seemed to treat it as one on their schedule. Trine is as well.

Re: MIAA 2024
Alma got hammered by UM-Dearborn 18-8. Wow. Not good when an NAIA school does that. Hopefully Trine takes notice. They have them this weekend. Hard to tell if UM-D is good or not, but wow.

Re: Conference Shuffle
Unfortunately, Northwestern (MN) is terminating their lacrosse program after this season. MLC down to 4 schools and at risk to lose their AQ unless they pick up another member. Beloit is an affiliate in the NACC so maybe they can be convinced to move conferences. Otherwise there could be a lot of in...

OAC
Does anyone know where the OAC followers post? I only see OAC references when NCAC or PAC schools post about them.

Re: MIAA 2024
Outside of Hope and Albion, I think that there will be some surprises in the final standings. There always seems to be in this conference. A couple of injuries or key new contributors and it can change some teams' outlooks. I don't think many people saw Kzoo's jump and Trine's collapse coming last y...

Re: NCAC 2024
Based on other Instagram photos Kenyon Scrimmaged Trine, Oberlin scrimmaged Baldwin Wallace, and Wooster scrimmaged Muskingham. I have not seen anything else though. Kenyon and Trine played 5 quarters. Kenyon won 4. One of them by quite a bit. Other 3 were a couple of goal difference. 5th was a tie...

Re: New NCAA rules
On the D-Fly and Dixie IL podcast, they mentioned one that may be more impactful for DIII. The new helmet rule. If an offensive player gets his helmet knocked off and there is no flag, the O player can be sent off and cannot come back on until the next stoppage in play. Can't just come back in. They...
