Re: NESCAC

Have to say that this year's forum has become painful to read. Everyone is reacting to posts that are clearly meant to generate extreme reactions. Lets talk about lacrosse and prediction of the tournament. We have to possible rematches brewing in Middlebury-Bowdoin and Tufts-Wes. We should be talki...

Bingo.

Tufts and Amherst's seats are not warming up...
None of those administrations care a whit about the on-field success of the men's lacrosse teams.

Re: NESCAC

Only followed the first half 🤦‍♂️ wow. https://i.ibb.co/Fw191Nc/IMG-9165.jpg They’re obviously a longshot, but potentially a season-saving half of lacrosse. Same here, watched the first half and was both impressed with the Trinity zone and conversely how poorly/sloppy Midd played. Trin played with ...

Re: NESCAC

https://i.ibb.co/SwzDfnZ/IMG-9082.jpg Did anyone watch any of this? Has to be one of the more surprising results of the season, in the middle of a very weird stretch for Middlebury. In the past ten days, they have: - looked lifeless in a loss against Hamilton - won a rock fight with Colby - dominat...

Re: NCAA Proposal re Tournament Selection Criteria

This will likely mean the end of schools in competitive conferences scheduling a number of tough OOC games. The new metric will effectively ignore OOC wins against weak teams when calculating SOS for selection purposes ... resulting in a higher SOS for schools that already play a strong conference s...

Boy, you ain't kidding: TWENTY EIGHT seniors/grad students. That has to be some kind of record.

Re: NESCAC

Finally on the recruiting front, we never took offense to the ghosting by some of the NESCAC coaches though some could have been more transparent. I tell kids its similar to a high school dance back in the day: everyone is looking at everybody in the beginning and seeing who they can partner with a...

Re: NESCAC

Blanket statement…I don’t think someone talking about the factors that impacted a game (or even just bringing up something interesting they noticed) automatically means they're trying to make excuses for the result of that game. Indeed. Not a fan of either team, just making an observation. Surprise...

Re: NESCAC

The "Babson obviously isn't actually good because I'm not familiar with them" stuff from last season (edit: which is somehow still a thing this season!) continues to age like milk. They're legit. Turns out, having ~23 seniors/grad students on the roster can be quite beneficial. Here's hop...

Re: NESCAC

RPI coaches watched the RIT/Midd NCAA film. Astounding that Midd continues to give full-game minutes to an attack that opponents shut down with a short stick. Something extremely odd going on up there ... that team isn't coached for success outside the NESCAC.

Re: NESCAC

Nice win for Midd - they are a deep team that jumped on Amherst early and didn't seem to notice the severe disadvantage at the faceoff x and in EMO opportunities. Shocked that the Amherst DC didn't even try the tactic that RIT used to completely stifle the Panther offense in the NCAAs. Surprisingly ...

Re: NESCAC

So is the consensus that if we could swap out one NESCAC team for NJIT, we’re going Wesleyan? I’m sticking with Middlebury. Is this really a thing? How would they even go about doing it? Just ignore him. Probably the best way to get him to go away. Those posters are the same person ...

You've have been at this for some time. What's the purpose? Actually think you're going to change minds with these kind of posts or just no activity in the CLC/Salisbury threads and like messing with NESCAC fans?

Re: NESCAC

Dude you have quite an obsession going on with middlebury. What's the story there for you? I asked a simple question, and the defensive nature with which some people responded has peaked further curiosity with the root cause. I don’t know why some too issue with my use of the word “schtick.” It see...

Re: NESCAC

Well, did a deep dive on the Middlebury men’s lacrosse scheduling crisis. These are the games outside of the New England/Upstate NY region that they’ve had (or even scheduled in the cancelled year) since 2019. Union @ Sparks Md 2024, Mustang Classic 2019. That’s it. 2 trips. A little more digging a...

Re: NESCAC

It shouldn't be that controversial to acknowledge that the top 10 teams in D3 are better than the bottom 20 teams in D1. Maybe there's an argument about how the #1 D3 team would fare against the #35 D1 team, but a typical Tufts team from the last 15 years would rinse NJIT. Full stop. There is no ev...
