Re: Ivy League 2020

Brown has taken commits in recent years with a planned PG year, assume that’s the case with 1-2 here. Maybe Daly snagged an extra admission spot with the decrease in varsity teams in Providence for added flexibility. I just noticed Brown now has nine 2022 commits and eight are midfielders. Interesti...

Re: Ivy League 2020

Clearly rescheduled Fall sports would have a hard time scheduling out of conference unless this becomes the norm across the board. Would be great to see Spring sports attempt a regular schedule if circumstances permit. But if NOT, hopefully Men’s Ivy Lacrosse will play each other 2x this Spring. Wou...

Re: Brown 2020

Brown announces 3 semester 20-21 academic year, with Sophs, Juniors and Seniors on campus Fall and Spring, and Frosh on campus Spring and Summer. Knock wood it goes as plans.

Flipping Demopoulos from Hop is icing on the cake for an excellent 21 class, well done Coaches.

Re: Yale 2020

Unforeseen benefit of needing 5 years for the diploma. A little off brand for Yale, but can’t blame them for making it work. Handsome Dan can rejoice.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021

Think Shay got a good look from UVA in 2016 but opted to extend at Yale instead. Worked out well for both parties. Maybe Shay can be persuaded now that he’s won it all. He’d be my #1 target. Why not make a run at Shay . I could see him considering after a look forward given the latest . He's familia...

Sounds like Cornell and Brown trying to make it happen for their Seniors. Still would be quite surprised if admin allows.

Re: Transfer Portal

Pretty curious to see where Xander Dickson lands—putting up 20 points as a freshman for a Championship team is impressive. Best guess he follows Burkinshaw to Penn where once was committed? But if PT was the issue @ UVA no guarantees to walk into a starting job at UPenn....Yale?

Re: Ivy League 2020

Stinks for these seniors. This will quickly become league wide policy.

Double-whammy of an ultra talented senior class losing the season, and then possibly headed off to the Big 10 or ACC. Sowers already in the pool. 2021 could be a bitter pill to swallow for the IL.

Re: Ivy League 2020

We should assume if 5th year is granted 2020 Seniors would not be on campus or allowed to participate in team events in the Fall?

Re: Brown 2020

Just to keep the thread going, here are a couple thoughts about the season and that upcoming: —I was really impressed with both Geppert and Gaydos on close D. Watching UVA it looked like a 3rd Sophomore, Taylor, saw the majority of time in the 3rd spot. Makes for a strong returning crew, especially ...

Amherst had never been to the NCAA tournament prior to Jon Thompson’s arrival. It wasn’t a “top” job when he was hired and it certainly isn’t now. Will take a candidate looking to put in 10 years of work.

The Bears got a practice in today and then showed up in full gear to cheer the Women’s Lax team to an upset over ranked Virginia Tech. Lemons out of lemonade. Touch of class by the squad on a very hard day.

Re: Ivy League 2020

I think every single Ivy team feels this way in 2020. The arrow is pointing up for all, and in each locker room there is a belief that the NCAA's and more are attainable. From strictly a fan's perspective, it would be terrible not to see Sowers, Teat, Irelan and Goss finish out their careers. All-ti...

Pretty nice weekend for the Ivies and forgettable days for Lars and Tambroni against their former teams.

Early returns suggest we will see some great battles at the X between freshmen FO guys Petrakis, Sandoval and Gunty.

Re: Ivy League 2020

Well Dartmouth is getting votes for the top 20 (at least over on IL) and Brown isn't, so today wouldn't Brown be the underdog? I think if you switched schedules we're likely looking at a 4-0 Brown and a 2-2 Dartmouth, still too early to see who these teams really are. Any way you cut it, it's great ...

Re: Ivy League 2020

Fun fact: Brown/Yale/Penn and Princeton have all had their individual record books rewritten in the last 4 years. Obviously pace of play and an increase in games played contributes to this, but what a golden age of offensive talent in the Ivy League. It’s been a pleasure to watch. The league is so g...
