Re: NU at UNC 3/25

Izzy stepped on, not through, the goal circle with her left foot once but was bumped by rushing-to-close-the-gap Carolina defender Gabi Hall after the goal was in the net. Does getting pushed/bumped/checked into or on the crease by a defender get factored into the rule? It does get factored, as you...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25

It's games that are over and an extra goal is scored for no reason such as what happened in last 10 secs yesterday. I think there was a big reason, however ignoble, for Amonte to rip her FU goal. She was on the receiving end of some brutality during the game. And if you saw Izzy's gestures after sh...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25

Don’t have any inside knowledge and am really just exercising my inherent poster-right to speculate, but if Ingrilli was healthy, wouldn’t she be playing? I thought there used to be a 50% rule, that is, if you played more than 50% of the year, you couldn’t red shirt even if you got injured. Is that...

Re: Loyola v. Syracuse Wednesday 3-27-2024

Hounds travel to the Dome for a potentially very good OOC matchup for both teams. Really nice that the coaching staffs have kept this game on the books year over year. I haven't seen Loyola play much this year and then only early, a relatively close win against Hopkins. Doc? I like Syracuse in a pr...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25

They already won so why score another to make it a 6 point game. Our run at the end was nice and I hope we start off the BC game like that. Why? Because UNC has done that to many teams over the past several years and when the score was much worse than 15-10. Don’t whine about it now when it happens...

Re: NU at UNC 3/25

I think NU is a scary match up for UNC on a normal day, but coming off a bad loss to PSU is all the motivation the Cats need to bring it in Chapel Hill. I think there is every possibility we see a repeat of the beat down Cuse put on the Heels a couple of weeks ago. NU's style of play, overwhelm opp...

Re: Games Today

I just had a chance to watch UVA vs. Stanford. Some early season stuff (as would be expected) but UVA looks like a different team to me. And they are YOUNG ... 6 freshman saw meaningful minutes on attack and midfield and were aided by 2 sophomore starters on defense and a sophomore GK who made 12 s...

Re: Games Today

Goodale is a beast Sorry but any player that flops that much you cannot call a beast. What does one have to do with the other? Further--how does one trait detract from the other? I guess we just have a different idea of what a beast is in regard to sports . I see players like Ward and Skane as bein...

Re: Miscellaneous Topics 2023

Cleats vs Turf shoes? My kid (12U) just started playing on almost all turf this year after playing mostly grass before. I bought her new cleats this year but now I'm thinking she might need turf shoes. The fields are all HS outdoor turf (typically football fields). What is everyone's thought on thi...

Re: Boston College

Notre Dame @ BC I’m not doing the lead-up to a big game justice, but time keeps on slippin’… Instead, I will plant a few seeds for debate. Previously, the formula for beating the Irish has been the following: Keep the draws close, limit #23 JW touches, stay patient on offense and wear them down, cap...

Agreed; the winner is going to have something like 7 or 8 goals here.

Inside Lacrosse..believe it or not, their box scores are pretty accurate. It's what i use. I think they get a direct feed from official broadcasts. I don't know what method these individual schools use but alot of the websites are all designed by the same company so if there's a system bug in the a...

Re: Games Today

Seems like a good day to shout out one of our homegrown greats, senior captain for Ohio State, Jamie Lasda. My daughters and so many others have played with and looked up to Jamie because she both plays the game and leads the right way—by quietly setting a good example and selflessly including/lifti...

Re: Boston College

Hi all - new poster here. I've really enjoyed reading everyone's opinions and thought I would join in. I am not sure it's entirely fair to say that AWW and the rest of the BC coaching staff don't look to the future and player development. It seems like every year about two freshmen get to start or ...

Re: Polls

Its just my opinion but ND is not better than BC. BC has won the last 6 contests that I can recall and only one was close. BC also sent ND home in the NCAA playoffs by running clock the past 3 years. Both teams have largely comparable teams that they have had historically and BC has better coaching...

Re: Games Today

Great player, but Masera flops more than Lebron. What a turd way to lose. A lot of floppers on SB ...good thing they are supposed to enforce flopping :| Cuse needs a lot of work......They may and should drop out of top 10. To lose a game when opponent goalie makes like 3 saves is pretty bad. As alw...
