Re: Coaching Carousel 2024
I am pretty confident that the great majority of girls that play high level lacrosse can get into almost all the schools that play mid to high level lacrosse on their own. Lacrosse recruiting is more about what the coach is looking for/feeling … and some of these coaches are entirely unpredictable ...

Re: Florida State
That one rumor has serious legs - I've seen it stated as gospel truth on at least two other forums that Florida State did a pre-season hire of a high-level D1 coach and has somehow pulled off the best-kept secret in the history of college women's lacrosse.

Re: New Programs
I looked over the DII and DIII top 20 rankings. I have always felt the top D3 schools are clearly better than the top D2 in the non-revenue sports. This applies to the girls from my area that have committed to play lacrosse in college from my perspective. The D3 schools seem to get the much better ...

Re: New Programs
The sport can still grow in Tennessee with D3 teams. Let them crawl then walk then run. Why sprint right in. Now keep in mind. I never heard of the school. If it’s a top d1 program especially sports, of course it’s going to be easier. I know I’m on the minority side in this. I just don’t see the go...

Re: Games Today
The commentator for Syracuse - Virginia Tech spent most of the first quarter referring to the draw circle as "center X", which drove me slightly crazy. Clemson has a beautiful facility; the camera positioning seemed like it was to show off the building more than the actual game. UConn and ...

Re: Games Today
Thank sweet baby Jesus, Army finally has a win. They were making me nervous with the back-and-forth with Hofstra until they ran away with it in the 3rd quarter.

Re: Games Today
1) Outside of Mass Elite and Grizzlies, girls club lax in the NE is pretty poor. And the best girls from those programs often want to go to top national schools. 2) A majority of Mass Elite players are prep school kids whose home is coast to coast so they don't necesarily have any affinity to the n...

Re: Stanford Player Gets Red Card for Hit
Parents on this forum, close your eyes and imagine it was your daughter taking that hit ... blind and off ball. It could have been a lot worse. Red cards are intended to penalize (among other things) reckless and dangerous behavior. This card was correctly applied. Exactly. On the flip side, my dau...

Re: Stanford Player Gets Red Card for Hit
If the girl had the ball, probably a yellow card. Her not having the ball results in a red card. I think that is a bigger issue than whether happened before or after horn. Red card regardless...having the ball in your crosse does not make a cross-check less of a foul severity. That is the Men's gam...

How did Army lose to Siena? And UConn only lost to JMU by 1.
I feel like there's a lot of surprises so far in this young season!

Re: Something is NOT KOSHER : Please read and comment
What I had heard from a friend-of-a-friend connection to the Quinnipiac team was that the head coach was well-liked and players were not happy with the circumstances of her departure, but no details of exactly what happened. Based on what was in the article, at best, different staff were working fro...

Re: UNC 2024 Injuries
A few thoughts regarding injuries. American players come into college much like a high mileage car. Too many years playing too many club games, often with glaring deficiencies or nagging injuries you do not see in Europe. Further, we spend almost no time working on players and their running form wh...

Re: Northwestern "Hard Times"
We watched it last weekend, a couple of thoughts: The production value was impressive, great videography and strong audio mixing. It must have cost NU a pretty penny to get all those music rights. My daughter (a 2028) also picked up on the fact that so many players' stated aspirations in life were t...

Re: Shorts ... the players HATE the shorts. Bottom line is that the skirts are more comfortable, especially with all the new tech in fabrics/design. NW is one of the few teams in NCAA that wears shorts for field hockey too. Different strokes. A lot of the high schools have gone to shorts for their ...

Re: Recruiting
Thought i'd mention that Syracuse may luck out once again with a former alum's kid. Paul Carcaterra's daughter who's a 2027 is one to watch. She looks Humphrey-esque.. way too early to know how she'll develop but she's looking like a real problem Syracuse and good lacrosse genes go hand in hand it ...

Re: Green Cards
Is this all stemming from the badly injured Yale player whose C-suite mom took to social media demanding Joe Spallina's head on a platter? The green card does not address the root cause of the player safety problem, which is inconsistent officiating of the rules already on the books . I feel like mo...
