Re: Brown 2024

Brown’s AD intends to make Brown Lax a destination program - just as Yale, Princeton, Cornell and Penn have become destination coaching positions - no reason Brown’s coaching position can’t be the same……the will is there…..the hidden gem of the Ivies … Brown can absolutely have big success -- and h...

Re: Brown 2024

Kevin Casese would have no interest …he left Lehigh to position himself for the Duke job or some other perrenial Top Ten program…..Ryan Wellner would be an experienced and exceptional candidate who would take a call but would have to hear an outstanding proposal to consider a move based on the leve...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2024

Does Brown look at Chris Wojcik? Notre Dame’s offense has been a juggernaut and their man up is unstoppable. I know his tenure at Harvard was inconsistent, but he did lead them to an Ivy championship. I would not think so. Chris W. was an alum at Harvard; had a pretty long tenure and brought in som...

Re: 2024 Bracketology

Virginia is safely in. The fact is, their overall resume is still better than a lot of other teams. It’s not a Duke/ND 2022 situation. The committee taking recent form into account would create so many more problems than if they occasionally let in a team like UVA that may not be playing well but h...

Re: UVA 2024

Seems like just yesterday ACC/UVA apologists were complaining about the Ivy League getting too many teams in the tournament based on RPI. trolling? and orfling's a yale alum. uva's entire resume numbers compare favorably to what would be a 9th team in just about any scenario. unless you have 9 team...

Re: Yale 2024

Yale tries to win on one leg again to no avail. Kudos to Machado for giving it a shot but can't lose 80% of the faceoffs and have a shot to win. The car ran out of gas - too many injuries to beat a decent but hardly great Princeton team. What’s the Princeton goal differential going back to 2022? Yo...

Re: Brown 2024

Curious as to how much people are interested in Cassese? Proven head coach and a very good lifetime winning percentage at Lehigh. On the other hand, he chose to leave Lehigh and give up the sought-after head coaching slot for an assistant job at a national title contender. Is that a profile for a te...

Re: Brown 2024

Good to hear. Amazing how due process got thrown out (and still is sometimes). Thompson has to be on and at the top of the list if he was vindicated. I think the bigger obstacle to a JT hiring may be him being seen as a "Division III guy" when they just went that route with Daly and concl...

Re: UVA 2024

Lars missing Kerwin? I think it's more whether this team is built the same way in terms of being dominant at the specialist positions. In the 2019 and 2021 seasons -- even aside from the enormous talent on the roster -- the Hoos were well-constructed for a post-season run with a great "playoff...

Re: ivy league 2024

I would be pretty annoyed if big East gets 3 teams and Ivy only 1. Big East is not that strong top to bottom. Only the AQ at this point gives ivies any peace of mind. League deserves an at large IMO but a lot to shake out with upset minded nova and Michigan. Psu looks legit though. I am guessing Co...

Re: Yale 2024

Good effort from the Bulldogs but they couldn't solve Gianforcaro (they never did -- he played lights out against them every game he faced them); they just couldn't figure out EMO (0-2); they got badly hurt on man down defense (Princeton was 3 of 4, including scoring two in a momentum killing non-r...

Re: ivy league 2024

And fittingly in this year of parity, #4 seed Penn knocks off Cornell. Terrific game by Penn’s defense, including another gem from Emmett Carroll. The Quakers looked like the team that beat Duke. Congrats to both Princeton and Penn and good luck to both teams on Sunday.

Re: ivy league 2024

Congratulations to Princeton on a strong win over Yale. (I suspect Yale will be bubble out now of the NCAA tournament and, if so it was an enjoyable season to watch.)

Re: ivy league 2024

Here’s hoping for a healthy Ivy tournament for all four teams involved. No matter what teams advance to Sunday and which team grabs the brass ring, I will be rooting for the Ivy entrants in the NCAA tournament. Good luck to the Ivy League players, coaches, families and fans this weekend. Joewillie, ...

Re: Navy 2024

Great win for the Mids. Navy had the answer all night long. Many teams right now would be delighted to have the combination of Hayashi at FOGO and Daly in goal. Now, if they can just cut down on those turnovers . . .

Re: ivy league 2024

All Ivy selections should be coming out any day. This will be a challenging year for voters. It's highly competitive field, especially at attack and in goal. Good topic. I predict Kirst, King, Brandau 1st team attack. Goalie hard to predict! I’d guess Carroll for 1st team, Gianforcaro 2nd team, Knu...

Re: Brown 2024

Posting here what I more or less posted on the Ivy League thread -- wishing Coach Daly all the best. His players and alums were very loyal to him and that's actually not all that common in the Division I world, whatever the sport. And his current 2024 guys played hard for him all the way to the end....
