Re: NESCAC

The Rutgers guy is definitely at Trinity. I can't speak to how good he is but he played at Brunswick. Anyone who makes the varsity there should be at a bare minimum a strong contributor. Ditto for the UMBC guy who is also there and played at Salisbury. The Bryant guy also lists himself as being a m...

Re: NESCAC

Good stuff, Wavy. Thank you. I will throw out one more name:
Noah Robb, D, Bowdoin. Had an excellent sophomore year, but got banged up last season. Remarkable natural athlete and fierce competitor.

Re: NESCAC

Gents-- time to get this forum back on track and start talking about the greatest conference in sports, the 'CAC. Below are my pre-season rankings / predictions. Interested in what others think. Thanks. You are out of your mind (or a Camel fan) if you think CC is better than Tufts and will beat the...

Re: Something is NOT KOSHER : Please read and comment

"A later email indicates that Smith — the head athletic trainer who had largely ignored Kotowicz’s concerns in early October — texted her just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 22 to request a meeting on athlete and injury management. Less than 10 minutes later, when Kotowicz apparently took a screenshot ...

Re: Brown 2024

Just took another look at the '24 schedule. Of the 14 opponents, only Quinnipiac, PC and Dartmouth are not ranked or "receiving votes" in today's IL poll. The opening stretch after Q is BU, PC, @Georgetown, @Maryland, and @Penn. Brutal. We will have a good idea after that stretch whether t...

Re: Boston College

Wow. Eags looked pretty dang good yesterday. That attack unit is a defender's nightmare. It seems that Davis is dodging with more strength and confidence and Lopinto was as good as advertised. Chemistry and balance seemed good. Nice to see Reynolds emerge with a hat trick. She is one of the fastest ...

Re: NESCAC

Hey all, New poster. Dad of Trinity freshman. Anyone with any insight into how the season might play? Looks like I also have to follow NJIT if I want to play at all in this forum. Not. :) Thanks for chiming in! Trinity would seem to be the biggest wildcard in the league. You may have more insight i...

Lars press availability here:

He says Boyden will start out as an O middie, but seemed to imply he could also see time at attack.

Re: Worst Team in D1

"Worst team" is a lot less interesting to me than "team who has done the worst relative to the amount of resources they have." Ohio State has the largest athletic department in the world and what they have to show for it is just 7 NCAA tournament appearances in 53 seasons as a D...

Re: NESCAC

Lars raved about Jack Boyden at his media availability on Tuesday. Said he will be coming out of the box as an O middie to start the year, but noted that he is an excellent attackman as well. Lars said the players and coaches really want JB to return for his last year of eligibility in '25. Full com...

Re: NESCAC

Are we witnessing the downfall of Wesleyan? Was last year a fluke or a sign of things to come? Throughout the mid-to-late 2010s the Cardinals were dominant, capped with their 'ship in 2018. Since, its appears the boys from Middletown are trending downwards, and I am unsure why. I feel Covid is a la...

Re: Syracuse 2024

The Colgate defensive strategy of let Joey Spallina sit behind the cage with his hands free while his Canadian teammates cut inside for 10 seconds may be the dumbest coaching game plan I’ve ever seen.. He may finish with 10 assists today. Very odd. Also leaving Cuse wide open outside of 10 yards wh...

Re: 2024 top 20

Thanks for pulling this together, Joe Willie! How close would Colgate have to keep it against Cuse tonight to crack your top 20? Two goals? Three goals? This is assuming that Colgate can defeat Hobart this weekend, which, of course is not a slam dunk. Interesting question? This always brings up the...

Re: NESCAC

In April 2021, Tufts defeated Dartmouth 15-9 in Hanover in an actual game. The Jumbos led 8-3 at halftime. Dartmouth's All American goalie Hincks played 53 minutes and made 19 saves. Dartmouth's lineup included players who would become four of their top six points leaders the following season. Georg...

Re: NESCAC

One other quick thought about why top D3 teams are able to outperform lower D1 teams. Lacrosse is different from almost every other sport in that it only takes two or three excellent players to be able to stay in most games. If you have a dominant FO guy -- as Tufts, Bowdoin and Denison did last yea...

Re: NESCAC

As to how well NJIT would do in the NESCAC, please consider where they stack up in the pecking order of D1. Last year they finished with a worse record and 10 places behind Cleveland State in the D1 RPI. Denison’s starters “won” over the CSU starters on the road, leading at halftime and leading afte...
