Re: Liberty League 2024
SLU with a tough draw having to play a red hot Wesleyan team in the second round. Should be a great game. Not to mention SLU also is the higher seed in that pod but Wes is hosting due to either the NCAA not wanting to send those teams up to Canton or maybe SLU not being able to host this weekend. I...

Re: 2024 Pool C
St. Lawrence and Tufts both are the higher seed in their pods but are not hosting because of location/distance. The committee did not want to send 3 teams up to Canton, NY so they sent them down to CT. Tufts being in the pod with two Illinois teams meant it was closer to send them to Union rather th...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Not that it matters now, I’m still trying to figure out how they decided the tiebreaker. I haven’t seen a real explanation anywhere. I doubt we will ever get a definitive answer but my guess is the tiebreaker was the average goal difference of in conference games. The ranking of that statistic for ...

Re: Liberty League 2024
A little quiet over here in the Liberty. Is that because we all expect RIT and RPI in the final on Sunday? Union was in a slugfest with Clarkson. Can they push RIT like they did less than a week ago? RPI played 45 minutes of lacrosse. Can they bounce back from an abysmal second quarter and get the ...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Paddy Condon is going to need to be on his A game for St. Lawrence this Saturday vs RPI. He struggled in the first half and was not able to slow down the inevitable RIT run that always seems to happen but was much better in the 4th which gave SLU the extra possessions to be able to close the lead to...

Re: 2024 Pool C
What is St. Mary's (MD) doing in Region II with the LL and other NY teams? Surely that is a mistake right? Or is this another example of the NCAA trying to minimize travel costs by making odd groupings?

Re: 2024 Pool C
Pretty sure those NCAA rankings are listed in alphabetical order. I definitely remember in years past this has happened before and confuses people. Not that it matters too much at the moment but don't get too ahead of yourselves reading into questionable rankings.

Re: Liberty League 2024
Not trying to make an excuse for SLU as they were just overall bad yesterday but reports I have heard are that they were down 4 regular starters against Midd with two of those injuries being for the rest of the season. Huge blow for a team that has had a great start to the season and hopefully they ...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Skidmore could be a trap game for SLU tomorrow. The thorough-breads are no slouch and SLU has not played since their big mustang classic weekend. The Saints need to come out of the gate firing and not think this game will be a cake walk because they are ranked #4 or this game could be a nail-bitter.

Re: Liberty League 2024
The league has been the best in the nation in terms of top end teams for the past 5 years or so. Historically the NESCAC has better depth down at the bottom which is why they are normally considered the best in D3. With the loss of Bard a couple years back and with Skidmore, Vassar and Clarkson all ...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Huge weekend for the LL. Going to have 4 teams in the top ten in the next poll with 2, possibly 3 (RIT, SLU, maybe RPI) in the top 5. Union should be somewhere in 6-8 range. Very excited for when these teams face off against each other. Can’t forget what a strong start Skidmore is having as well thi...

Re: Mustang Classic 24
Very strong showing from the north teams this weekend. Between the Liberty League and NESCAC, it’s clear the top teams (besides Salisbury) are up north. Hamilton (about 6th best team in nescac) taking down a Lynchburg team that has grad students and always ranked high confirms the depth is the north...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Big day for the LL yesterday with some really good wins. Noticed that Judge Murphy (SLU) has put up 23g, 11a for 34 points through 5 games. Granted this is against some weaker teams but that is a rapid pace (6.8ppg) out of the gate. If he keeps this up going into the meat of SLUs schedule and gettin...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Any word on RIT preseason? They don't have roster up yet for 2024... Roster is up now. Very senior and graduate student heavy 8 Grad Students for RIT. Many from private high schools, so they likely started college with an additional year of experience. It's probably what it will take this year to c...

Re: Liberty League 2024
York has two more shots at LL opponents this season against RIT and SLU, curious to see how they fare against them after losing to RPI. Based of rankings and pre-season predictions, I would expect a win for RIT and a very close game against SLU that could go either way. Would be a big statement for ...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Yea didn't realize that question was going to lead to that answer... In other news, saw RPI scrimmaged Babson this weekend, anybody have an update on how that went? I've read RPI has some big expectations this spring but don't know too much about them myself. Are there any other LL scrimmages to rep...

Re: Liberty League 2024
Two players on SLU who are in the running for top players in the league are Ben Hutchinson and Judge Murphy. Both guys are seniors and have played in every game since they stepped on campus and will be leading the offense for the Saints. Depth scoring -as for every team- will be the question mark f...

Re: Liberty League 2023
Any early 2024 predictions? 5th years? The boring answer is RIT is once again the favorite with SLU, Union and RPI the next favorites. I think we've seen in the past couple years how big of an impact 5th and even 6th years have had so time will tell if any of those three teams benefit from those pl...
