Re: ivy league 2024

Congrats to Princeton on a great run…

And if it turns out that this is a one-bid league, then my condolences to Cornell, which won the Ivy regular season outright and gets absolutely shafted.

Re: New England West 2024

Re Brunswick v L’ville ending, i thought the rule was that if a goalie chases a shot to the end line, the refs have to give them a few seconds to get back. College might be diff than HS maybe, but I’m not sure. PS no dog in the fight this is an honest question. I didn’t see the game, just the clip o...

Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024

Put Brandau’s production/overall numbers, % of team points and game impact on Kav, O’Neill, Kirst or Shelly and we aren’t even having this conversation… it’d be a lock.

He’s carrying a team into the top 10. It’s not his fault that Yale’s D is bottom 50.

Re: Yale 2024

Orfling- I agree with you. I don't know if this is just rearview mirror stuff, but it feels to me like most of Yale's painful losses over the last several years... stretch of Penn/Cornell/Princeton last year in the regular season, Princeton and Georgetown in the playoffs last year, Princeton in the ...

Re: Yale 2023

There were lots of good stats for the 23 team, but these are the ones that jumped out to me...
Clearing %- #58 out of 72 D1 teams
Man down D- #70
Man up- #59
Goals allowed/game- #62
Defensive efficiency- #61 raw, #47 adjusted

Re: Yale 2023

Congrats to the boys for another good year. Didn’t work out great but there’s lots to improve on and lots of material to work with.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

Re: Yale 2023

Scrimmage v Fairfield - not sure we learned a lot. Score was a whole lot to a little, and Yale took the throttle off early. Offense looked ridiculously good- #6 looked like he's taken a big jump from last year, and rest of the group looked great. I think everyone who played on O scored a goal. D loo...

Re: Yale 2023

Yeah Fan, I saw a few things to point out here, mostly about Brandau. First, he's got two more years... he's not a grad student! Also, this will be his third full season not including the 4-games from '20. And in terms of scoring, with two more years of this kind of production (knock on wood) he's g...

Re: Yale 2022

Very illuminating refreshing discussion as to what Coach Shay was thinking during key parts of the game. Agree, IL-Foy's article is also very good. By the way, as I watch the replay of yesterday's game due to Storms in Ithaca, I still cannot believe how cool and mature these freshman are. Just don'...

Re: Yale 2022

If I'm reading correctly, these are the ILT possibilities for Yale... yes/no? Yale beats Harvard- in the ILT Cornell beats Princeton- Yale in the ILT (with Yale win or loss) Princeton beats Cornell- Yale must win to make the ILT Dartmouth beats Brown, Princeton beats Cornell- Yale #1 and hosts ILT (...

Re: Yale 2022

In a perfect world I would still like to see Yale host the ILT which would necessitate a Brown win over Cornell, and a Harvard win over Princeton, followed a week later by a Yale win over Harvard, and a Princeton win over Cornell. Yale's odds of getting into the ILT with loss to Harvard are slim at...

Re: Dartmouth 2022

I feel for the boys on the team. They have a great goalie and FO and good talent up and down the roster. And they play hard all game. But they have basically one offensive play/set. Ride not there at all. Clear meh. Guys called off the field leaving Y 6-on5. Feels to me like they were outmatched fro...

Re: Yale 2022

Observations from an in-person viewing: • Lax as a spring sport was again foiled when the snow squalls arrived! • Only Yale can build a $10MM lacrosse facility and not have a scoreboard that works. Embarrassing; ... Nice go see the Bulldogs out there! What was baffling (and yes, embarrassing) about...

Anyone know why the NE West doesnt show up in the US Lacrosse All-American lists? https://www.usalacrosse.com/news-media-blog/2021-usa-lacrosse-boys-high-school-awards NE West is always either terribly late or just not in there.
