Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024
People can use this as bulletin board material if they want. But, as of right now, it seems like, in no order: Calvert Hall, Boys' Latin, and McDonogh are at least a small step above everyone else. I see a lot of parity. Calvert Hall could have beaten BL but Gilman could have beaten CHC. McD certai...

Who's Good?
Seen Cumberland, Lawrence Tech and Marian play. They all look solid but no team sticks out. Curious about Reinhardt, Life and SCAD this year

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************
Interesting games yesterday. I was surprised by the unforced turnovers from both games, especially this late in the year. McDonogh has some of the best high school players in the country and should be considered the favorite going into the game.

Re: Season openers
Congratulations to AMU, nice win. But also what is going at Benedictine? They have graduated a lot and seem to really be struggling, problem with early rankings they are done off or last years results this is clearly not the same team. Agree on the preseason rankings etc. It's early and who knows h...

Re: Season openers
Significant upset yesterday as Ave Maria defeats Benedictine 14 -12. Ave has overcome some tremendous off field adversity this year. 4 starters were in a horrific accident a month ago and they had to cancel several games.

Re: Season openers
I saw Keiser play in the fall and said they were either missing players or would not be their historical strong self. Florida Tech plays Ave Maria on Friday.

Re: State of NAIA lacrosse
Point has unfortunately eliminated its program. Not certain about the others mentioned but Mo Valley hasn't fielded a team in a couple of years; hopefully they will in the spring. That really sucks that Point eliminated it's program. Sanderson just got hired there after leaving Ave Marie, which suc...

Shelby Sanderson's primary consideration is her family. Point is lucky to have her.

Webber tournament on 11/5. I think SCAD and Keiser are either missing people or may take a step back this year.

Re: State of NAIA lacrosse
I think unfortunately there is a lot of instability. Part of it is that NAIA schools aren't in the area where prospects tend to typically come from: upstate New York, Long Island, Baltimore, Colorado so there's not a steady flow of semi-local talent available to these schools. Not sure what the ans...

Re: State of NAIA lacrosse
So with most schools starting thought I would revisit this. I really like the NAIA level, but it just doesn’t seem stable. It is exciting to see 4 new programs starting this year, Johnson (GA), St Thomas (FL), Warner (FL) and UHSP ( MO). Still some teams without coaches which is scary and some rece...

Re: Coaching changes 2022-23
Just saw William Penn has posted for a new HC, what the heck is going on there? Thought Sherman was doing a very good job, their AD just like to change every couple years or did she go somewhere else? https://ncaamarket.ncaa.org/jobs/17255070/head-women-s-lacrosse-coach Sherman is doing a great job...

Re: Coaching changes 2022-23
what is going on in the NAIA, learned of two big openings within the NAIA, not to mention SCAD. Ottawa and Georgetown coaches are now gone, anybody know whats going one? Talked to a coach in the NAIA who echoed the same sentiments you had about SCAD. The school doesn't care about sports or lacrosse...

Re: Coaching changes 2022-23
What is the status of coaching, saw yesterday that St Mary's in Kansas last their cooach, 2 in 2 years and low roster numbers what is their situation? Seemed to have a lot of Intern coaches last year are they staying or are schools going to relook, last look possible openings depending on what scho...

Re: State of NAIA lacrosse
No idea what the Mid-South will do but it seems like a reshuffling by the Sun Conference teams rather than elimination of existing teams. I understand your concern with certain low number teams. Ave was one of those teams often playing with only 11-12 girls. Prior to the season 2 nice players left s...

Re: State of NAIA lacrosse
Do you have a source for the Mid-South changes? I haven't seen anything on that. The Mid-South Conference in 2022 was extremely loaded, with 3 of the top 7 teams in the entire NAIA. Interestingly, Ave Maria, also in that conference, with a sub 500 record, had enough votes to be the first also mentio...
