Re: New England West 2025
My thoughts: For years NEWest1 had a big 3. 'wick, DA, and 'bury. Recently, Taft rose above DA, but DA didn't fall out of favor. Maybe Taft replaced DA last year in the Big 3. Last season there were either the big 3 or the Big 4, but DA was doing what they do every year and getting better and better...

Re: Championship-ND Vs. MD On Monday, 05/27, At 12:00 PM
Did I hear right that ND has 20 seniors and grad students contributing to the team? Oh, sure, this abundance is a consequence of Covid, which is no one's fault or plan, but until this Covid year-or-two eligibility jiggering winds off of the rosters I'm putting an asterisk next to these super-teams....

The guy from lacrosse bucket did a very nice live blog during the games on Saturday.
Is there going to be a link to someone watching and blogging?

Re: New England West 2024
The Pelicans must be shaking their heads and channeling Rodney "I don't get no respect" Dangerfield. They win the FL for the first time in 16 years, beat Salisbury for the first time in 17 years, beat DA for the first time in nine years, only lost two games and beat all comers save for 'w...

Re: New England West 2024
I see JAP has already opened a 2025 thread. Thank you JAP! But I have some questions (please read that in your Ricky Ricardo voice...) What the dickens happened to Salisbury? They were loaded for bear, and winning like they were supposed to (Loomis beating 'bury was a coming out moment for the Pelic...

Re: New England West 2024
JAP, thank you for that detailed summary. The only error is Taft isn't ranked #1, but I'm still formulating my argument for that case. IMO, Brunswick is a school bound and determined to win a National championship. They're located well to achieve that, and they apparently have committed the resource...

Re: Why is lacrosse so competitive now?
Clarify? As I read your fascinating post, you grew up in SoCal and never could even make the JV team because how deep the coach had to cut? You're going to get lots of replies about how hard young laxers work and the rule of 10,000. No sport is easy to be competent at, but lacrosse requires a fundam...

Re: New England West 2024
While I hate Hudl's machine-operated cameras* for live streams, the site is good for hunting down rosters. However even there Brunswick isn't updated. Feel sorry for our Rhinos @3rdPersonPlural
I missed the game because my phone rang and I've been on calls since 2:30. Now the game is OVER! I guess I'm glad I didn't have to watch it, actually.....

Re: Denver Pioneers 2024
I hope everyone is ready for a 7-5 final because if DU stands a chance in this game they are going to have to value the crap out of possessions. DU is a BORING game on TV. Only DU can make ‘cuse and Cornell games pedestrian. I was at the Cornell game this year, which DU won 17-16. Hardly pedestrian...

I hope everyone is ready for a 7-5 final because if DU stands a chance in this game they are going to have to value the crap out of possessions. I was a Boulder resident from 2012 through 2015, and if you recall those years, you’ll understand why I became a happy DU Lax fan. I still root for the Pi...

Re: New England West 2024
Rhinos beat TP 10-5. Things got chippy at the end. FL Championship played on Wednesday -- probably in Watertown(?)
edit: The Pelicans also beat the Wild Boars 10-5 and will visit the Rhinos on Wednesday.

Re: New England West 2024
OK....One of you Lax Savants help me figure this out? My beloved Rhinos have had a difficult season, but their last game was a butt-whuppin' of a nationally significant LC team. Notes from the 'locals' was that their D was stout...and all year their D was up and down. Giving up 15 to DA and 11 to Hi...

Re: #5 Denver vs Michigan Saturday @ 5
Don't sleep on the thin air. I lived in Boulder for 6 years and my first couple of weeks were gasping for air. Both Denver and Michigan have large and aggressive defenses, and I think it'll come down to the team with the best SSDM performances. My money is on MI for the win. They're the Cinderella t...

Re: New England West 2024
Well, Taft just beat a hobbled Salisbury squad quite soundly and now has to beat Loomis and AOF to salvage what they can of their season. It's a first year coach at both Taft and AOF, so that'll be an interesting game. I'll be happy for LC if they beat the Rhinos, because LC has been getting better ...

Re: New England West 2024
HOTCHKISS 8-6 over Salisbury. Anyone who has actually watched Hotchkiss this season sees the leaps and bounds the team has taken. Just need more bodies in the program. Feels like a new culture has arrived, Hotchkiss lost to Loomis by 9 goals. They lost to Brunswick by 9. Taft (probably by mistake) ...

Re: New England West 2024
Thank you for your insight, Dawgie. Even though I'm a Rhino since way back, I am becoming a Pelican fan. They were pretty darned good last year, and this year Coach Ball seems to be getting the most out of a talented squad. One can't help but admire that accomplishment. I'm posted up in Palm Spring...
