Re: Do losing coaches of struggling programs ever get fired?
Well obviously SDSU. While at the Game at Snapdragon we got quite an earful listening to a few of the families we sat behind. We learned a lot being a fly on the wall. They were grumbling because the coaches don’t allow more than half the team to participate in anything more than just drills in pra...

Re: Declining Programs
You would have to include Louisville on the team on the decline list except they haven’t been good for a long time if at all. They don’t have a lot of talent or coaching. They won the Big East in 2014 and were in the top 20 for like 4 years in a row and top 10 for one of those. Then there was the c...

Re: Declining Programs
Yes, Kellie Young -- for all her foibles -- built the program from scratch to a #5 ranking. She could identify, recruit, and coach talent. Her dismissal may well have been warranted, but Louisville has way too much to offer to be stuck in this downward spiral under Scott Teeter. The facilities are ...

Re: Games Today
Marquette / Louisville game back and forth until middle of 4th quarter where Louisville has pulled ahead by 4. Sloppy game at the beginning but lots grit and hustle by both teams. Louisville's goalie had a banger of a day. With 50 saves in the team's first three games, she picked up right where she...

Re: 2024 Preseason All-Americans
All this pre-season nonsense is just useless clickbait. None of these players has done a single thing this season yet. All it does is (1) drive traffic to their web site and (2) entrench players based solely on past performance as presumptive award recipients for next season, making more difficult f...

Re: Oberlin College
The massive, larger issue here is that if you don't agree and go along with the liberal narrative, you are cancelled and can be fired. And you are ok with that? That's sick. Public debate is not tolerated any longer. It used to be a hall mark of liberalism. This is banana republic and marxist stuff...

Re: Oberlin College
What is disturbing is that we have young people getting indoctrinated by liberals on campus, professors that are nothing more than political activists suggesting that it is ok to have biological men play female sports. This is insane on every level. To hear a couple of Coach Russell's players sugge...

Re: Oberlin College
I'll go one better--how about if folks don't post D3 news on D1 boards; regardless of how many people do or don't visit that neck of the woods as a qualifier. After reading and watching, this is more than D3 news - this is women in sport news. Is there a current issue in women’s lax with transgende...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
Skill as a player has little relevance to skill as a coach. There are plenty of excellent players -- in women's lacrosse and every other sport -- who cannot coach their way out of a paper bag.

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
According to a showcase email my daughter received (mass email), Aurora Cordingly is a UNC CH coach. what is a CH coach? I’m assuming UNC Chapel Hill, not sure though. Can we all just stop it with the abbreviations and initials, especially when referring to players and coachesa? I realize it may ma...

Re: Transfer portal
Certain programs are gaining reputations that will be considered during recruiting. If a kid is being recruited to both UNC and BC, does transfer portal activity factor in? Depends on the kid and the surrounding circumstances. This is tough on the current players, but some of it will even out as re...

Re: Transfer portal
Would rather have it the old way where you sit out but in today’s society that’s never gonna happen. Half of this board would post “it’s not fair to the girl who has a horrible experience at the college and wants to go elsewhere.” The other half would be that’s the way it was for thirty years. Suck...

Re: Transfer portal
Vanderbilt is a fully funded program, 12 scholarships. I know the program well, had a daughter who was heavily recruited out of HS, the usual top 5 programs all offered her spots and scholarship money. But she was not interested in attending a large state university and Vanderbilt checked all the b...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
Another issue with coaching in women’s lacrosse is the influx each year of new coaches who played the year before without any experience. It is rare that it happens like this in other sports. Just because someone can play does not at all mean she can coach. Ample examples throughout all sports. I h...

Re: Coaching Carousel 2022-2023
IMHO, where are the replacement coaches? With more than 120 D1 programs, not to mention all the D2 and D3 programs, there just are not enough good coaches to go around. If you want to play college lacrosse, find a school you love that has a lacrosse program you can play on. I love Vanderbilt and my...
