Re: Tewaaraton Award 2024

With Entenmann at 67% and #51 with 5 points vs Denver, I think that it's a two player race right now. Shellenberger with 2 points against UMD might not be a strong enough outing. For #1, I'm contrasting him with Rob Pannell in 2013... Cornell lost to Duke in the Semis, but Panell had a pretty big g...

Re: Way too early 2025 top 5

1. MD. See no one preseason better positioned. Gotta include the coach in this ranking. 2. Princeton. No fan of the ivies but best returning group of a good ‘24 team. 3. JHU. As a USNA Grad, pisses me off but trend is undeniable. Yes they have losses but that may not be bad. 4. ND. This will be the...

Re: Championship-ND Vs. MD On Monday, 05/27, At 1:00 PM

Having watched the semis both winners has massive possession and fo advantages of FO and goalie are a wash as great as MD has played in the playoffs hard to see them matching up on offense. Refs really swallowed their whistles yesterday too. Saw a lot that often gets called not called. Will that be...

Re: Way too early 2025 top 5

Lots of teams losing their “franchise players,” so it will be a new world next season. In general, the teams that make significant adjustments to their markedly different rosters will be the ones that succeed. The teams that try to fit round pegs into square holes … they are going to struggle a bit ...

Re: Championship-ND Vs. MD On Monday, 05/27, At 1:00 PM

Who does Ajax shut off? Pat? Chris? Whoever he covers will disappear. This is a GREAT championship. Lots of interesting things to think about. Maryland won in ‘22. ND won in ‘23. Who wins this year? Jared Bernhardt needs to make an appearance. Let’s go!!!!!! He wasn’t able to make any of them disap...

I think only one thing will be certain on Monday … with Wierman and Lynch, no lead will be safe for either team.

MD press conference https://youtu.be/aZWzTSz00mU?si=-7v5hmYQJqcPGGz9 Weirman and Burlace seem like great teammates. The two players are terrific young men. Also impressed with how often they praised the scout team and the scout team’s importance to their preparations. I would like to point everyone...

Re: John Tillman: Best Coach in the Game, Right?

He’s so good I just shake my head. It’s not just coaching .. it’s the culture and the way he communicates to the media. It’s the respect he gives the opponents and the former coaches and players. Just compare Tillman’s midgame interview on the sideline yesterday with Peter Milliman’s midgame interv...

Re: John Tillman: Best Coach in the Game, Right?

Was he the first choice after Cottle? 'Cause I'm not sure his Harvard tenure promised this degree of success. Debbie Yow is a coach finding genius. Her hires have NC state #7 in the directors cup and football plus basketball in the top 15. At UMD she moved on Timchel and hired Cathy Reese 5 time na...

Will Lynch was great today.

The Kavanaughs? They play lacrosse the way lacrosse should be played.

ND defeated an excellent Denver team today. Should be a great game on Monday.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

It is an exciting age, filled with hope. It is an age in which a new world order is being born. We stand today between two worlds—the dying old and the emerging new.—The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

It should be an exciting game on Monday, especially at the faceoff dot.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

1. Relentless focus on rankings including gaming with test optional and a pathetic early decision 2 option 2. Removal of legacy admissions and then still pandering for donations from alumni (while being gleeful legacies only comprise 2% of the student body like that's something to be proud of) 3. S...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

Yes - my dead horse has been roster size and while I still strongly feel there are a myriad of benefits to a smaller/streamlined roster that ship has probably sailed. '06's math looks pretty good this time and he is omitting Smith (in process and likely), the DIII face-off man, conversations/inquir...

Re: SF #6 Virginia vs #7 Maryland Saturday @2:30

Let me preface this by saying most alums or fans would be envious of uva every year. Great program. With that said as an outsider it seems like they have a bit of a coaching issue. Offense looks stagnant under Cassesse and Lehigh went to tournament year after he left. Their defense may be “Jurassic...
