Re: UNC 2024
One could argue that Coach Breschi should have discussed with the team that they needed to win by at least five goals. Reportedly, he never did during today’s game. If all that is true (a win by 5 would have gotten UNC in, and Breschi did not inform the team), it's coaching malpractice. I can see n...

Re: UNC 2024
Why does Duke get into the ACC Tournament instead of UNC? Goal differential tie breaker. If UNC had won by 5 goals they would have clinched an ACC tournament berth. Instead, their season ended when UVA lost. One could argue that Coach Breschi should have discussed with the team that they needed to ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Blue Jays currently: #2 in RPI #3 in SOS Top 5 RPI wins: 0 Top 10 RPI wins: 4 (UVA, MD, Penn State, GT) Top 15 RPI wins: 1 (Michigan) Top 20 RPI wins: 3 (Towson, Loyola, North Carolina) I think the Blue Jays are ensured a top 8 seed. If they win their B1G game against Michigan, they should g...

Re: Notre Dame 2024
What clown take. Notre dame ride has nothing to do with brain dead unforced turnovers. That was the sloppiest lacrosse I’ve ever seen at this level and only you could find a way to spin it like ND made a difference. Bet corrigan ia drinking buddies with those refs too. Congrats. Norte dame barely b...

Re: UNC 2024
Tough season for the Tar Heels. Even when they win they lose. North Carolina won the battle against Duke, but allowing that late run (and UVA’s loss) cost North Carolina a spot in the ACC tournament. Tar Heels lost the war. That’s it … 2024 season is over, and so are the careers of the seniors. DocB...

Re: Notre Dame 2024
Not the cleanest game from either team. This is a slugfest. Notre Dame’s ride won this game. I think Virginia had something like six failed clears, and even some of their “successful” clears ended in quick turnovers. That’s how lacrosse should be played. Shellenberger is a great player, but sometim...

Re: UNC 2024
North Carolina wins, but allowing that late Duke run could prove extremely costly. Coach Breschi should have taken a timeout and tried his best to stop that run. Without the goal differential of at least 5 goals, now North Carolina needs Virginia to win in order to make the ACC tournament. DocBarris...

Re: UNC 2024
That was a wild finish to the first half!!! UNC with 3 goals in the closing seconds. Wow. Could save the season for North Carolina. More importantly, could give Hopkins another quality win! :D 9-4 North Carolina at the half. Duke crumbles in the last 30 seconds. UNC needs to keep the pedal t...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Ross Scott over Angelus for 1st team All-B1G might be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my entire life, and I've seen a lot of DocB and jhu06 posts. Scott (13 games): 19 G, 23 A, 42 pts (3.2 per game), 26% shooting Angelus (13 games): 22 G, 33 A, 55 pts (4.2 per game), 52% shooting When the two t...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
The Jays are 8th in the country in turnovers per game. 15 TOs isn't bad in the shot clock era. That's better than the vast majority of teams' season averages. It was only about one above the Jays' season average of 13.9. The only tournament team with a better mark (barely) is Notre Dame at 13.6. Do...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Re: the offense, it's about winning lacrosse games. Hopkins has the best 6v6 defense in the country. Crawley's scheme, which is to maximize ball and player movement to exploit matchups, extend possession, get high-quality shots, minimizing dodges that risk turnovers and taking bad shots (effectivel...

Re: The “Minimally Invasive” Offense Has to Go
As I have stated before, I think the Big Guys (Collison, Peshko, and Grimes) need to be more aggressive in their dodging. Right now, opponents are perfectly content putting a SSDM on the Big Guys. That really needs to change. If Collison and Peshko can force opponents to put a longpole on them (or ...

The “Minimally Invasive” Offense Has to Go
Obviously the offense needs to be better than they were on Saturday if they want to play on Memorial Day Weekend …. In recent seasons, the Blue Jays’ O had problems with spacing, careless turnovers, and stagnant off-ball movement. The O often seemed out of sync. Through a lot of hard work, the Blue...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
It’s crazy how little this thread mentions the impact of #22 on this team. I think this team’s record looks a lot different with a different goalie in net. You need elite goalie play for MDW and luckily the Jays have it. Blue Jays would have several more losses (at least) without Ierlan’s stellar p...
