Re: ivy league 2024

All tremendously worthy honorees. Congratulations to them. As I noted on the Cornell thread, it is a bit surprising that Ryan Goldstein received no recognition. Goldstein led the Ivy Frosh in both goals (14) and points (22). Yes, I agree about young Mr. Goldstein. Perhaps it's that the competition ...

Re: World Soccer

Spurs 2 Arsenal 3 Some tough beaks for Spurs, but a boneheaded play by the GK Raya and a reckless foul by Rice made it a nervously close game. AS, did you think officials should have allowed a PK on Trossard's trip of Spurs No. 21? I'll tell you I did; clipped him, however unintentionally, on the l...

Re: NCAC 2024

Yes, Hamblett should definitely be there. I think the NCAC needs to throw a bone to someone from a school other than OWU/Denison. Kenyon FOGO Nelson?

Re: 2024 top 20

.... Tough year to grade. I have a feeling ND won’t win the Natty. Never miss a chance to sneak in an ND jab 😂 I'm not sure if that's a jab at ND, or a statement reflecting how difficult it is to repeat as national champions. It's been ten years since anyone has done it, and there are lots of reall...

Re: NCAC 2024

One thing is for sure: home-field advantage is pretty much non-existent in the Denison-OWU rivalry game. A good example is 2018, when there were three rivalry games, two in Granville and one in Delaware, OH, with all three games won by the visitors. When I was a kid growing up in Granville, OWU won ...

Re: ivy league 2024

Congrats to all of the Ancient Seven teams for a season well done. (Columbia, we're waiting for you to join the rest. :( ) I'm glad the four teams that made the ILT are C, Pr, Y, & Pn. B, D, & H have some quality and hopeful, bright futures, but the four that made the tourney have been the ...

Re: Yale 2024

Congratulations to Matt Brandau for becoming the Ivy League's all-time leader in points. Matt did what he could today, but well... at least the final score today wasn't as bad as last year's Yale home game against Cornell. Yale was 20 for 20 clearing today, a true bright spot. It was definitely a pl...

Re: Brown 2024

Everyone have their chips&dips, voodoo pins and stuffed tiger cuddlies ready for noon? Make the Hvd game meaningful! I'm going to give the athletic dept the benefit of the doubt and say that possibly stumbling into an ILT berth won't influence the postseason eval of the realities of the program...

Re: Yale 2024

... I would not want to see Yale lose to Princeton Saturday, lose in the ILT first round, and become “bubble out” for the NCAAs. (I know some folks think they are close to safe now so perhaps that’s not a real worry — but if the Ivy League sticks at 2 bids (where it could land), Yale could get aced...

Re: Yale 2024

The most interesting aspect of this recent Yale out-of-conference run, by far, is the splitting of goalkeeping responsibilities. To the best of my knowledge, this has never occurred under Shay's direction. Curious whether long-time Yale supporters view this as I do - a real chance to see if the you...

Re: World Soccer

Well, the Toffees will surely savor this win at Goodison Park. A long awaited win against the Reds and one that surely eliminates them from the title. Liverpool is just out of juice. Arsenal got their big win over Chelsea yesterday, but they’re going need City to falter for any chance. They were in...

Yale fans who have been to Reese recently (I think it's been 10 years for me (!) although I've gotten to see Yale play on the road and in the NCAAs a fair amount over that time). Any advice on ticketing? I'm going to attend Senior Day (also Alumni Day) with some alum teammates and take in the doubl...
