Re: NCAC 2024
Tough year for the NCAC, a conference definitely losing its lacrosse luster. Formerly, a college coach, now a high school coach and know several players at various schools in the NCAC. If anything I would say the league is the most interesting it has ever been. While it has forever been a two-horse...

Re: Yale 2025
Long range 2025 Post #2 -- Position groupings: Attack: Even with the departure of Matt Brandau, there's cause for optimism with the attack group, particularly if Chris Lyons and Leo Johnson are healthy. I could see Johnson filling the QB role that Brandau held (he was second behind Brandau in assis...

Re: NCAC 2024
Oh gawd, did Denison wear those gray things that look like the were designed for, and rejected by, Ohio State??

Yale 2025
Congratulations to Max Krevsky on being elected 2024-25 captain (I saw this via a Brian Tevlin re-tweet).
Lots of reasons for optimism about the 2025 season, but I'll hold off for a while on that.

Re: #7 Maryland vs Princeton Saturday @ 7:30
As HopFan16 said, face-offs. Maryland won 21 of 24 in the Terps-Tigers game earlier this year. Princeton has improved a lot since that game, and McKeekin has looked strong in some games; the Tigers need to neutralize Wierman to have a realistic chance of winning. need to put it in perspective thoug...

Re: World Soccer
Again, no title for Harry Kane, as two late Real Madrid goals see the galacticos through to the Wembley final against Dortmund. With Xavi Alonso staying at Leverkusen and Dortmund resurgent, a Bayern Munich title next year is far from assured. Perhaps Kane could shake up the French league by joining...

Re: World Soccer
Dortmund must be very good friends with the woodwork in Paris. For me, PSG is the epitome of big-money sportswashing, so it was good to see them eliminated before the final.

Re: Yale 2024
A fond farewell to the 2024 edition of Yale men's lacrosse. Special thanks to Matt Brandau, Jack Ocken, Bryce De Muth and Thomas Bragg for taking semesters off to play all four of their years for Yale in spite of the pandemic. Harvard came to Reese undefeated, and Yale's win over the ancient adversa...

Re: World Soccer
Crystal Palace 4, Man United 0 today. Just an absolutely desultory performance from United and Palace kicked MUFC is the teeth. United have a real turnaround job to do. Absolutely nothing all game. No Fernandes, and no one stepped up. MUFC falls behind Chelsea into eighth place in the table. Excruc...

Re: ivy league 2024
I don't see the NCAA adding teams, they are pretty consistent with their percentages of teams that get in. I think a second NIT type tournament could be well received but really have no idea what the college lacrosse community feels about one. The men's basketball NIT existed before the NCAA sancti...

Man a quant like you I would’ve expected “risk averse” from. You’re hanging out in my hood if you’re going to start using colorful and incendiary normative comments. I welcome it! https://youtu.be/oG6fayQBm9w?si=sjd0D4I802nSzDjK LOL, I didn't think pointing out that university administrators are ri...

Re: Possible Tournament Upsets?
Of the first eight games, I can think of four where the home team might not make it through: UVA vs St. Josephs : UVA has tremendous talent, but has not been winning. Granted they have been playing the top programs in the country. In contrast, St. Joe's has one of the longest unbeaten streaks in th...

Re: NCAC 2024
Denison goes to Rochester, plays Babson. Looks like this should be a good game; Babson played some NESCAC teams this year, with mixed results. They are in a conference with Springfield, while other conference teams are a clear cut below. If Denison beats Babson, the Big Red will almost certainly get...

First time since 2017 that the Ivy is a one-bid conference, and the first time since 2014 that Yale doesn't make the dance.
Go Princeton Tigers!!
