Re: Long Island 2024
GC could easily go undefeated. I’d be surprised if they did not. Not one I had potentially biting them on my Bingo card. Color me surprised. Lol. This has proven to be a down year for GC lacrosse. Losing to a very weak team from R.I. was a precursor. The loss to SS/RVC was further evidence of weakn...

Re: Hobart 2025
We have 6 scholarships for what will be the '25 season (for the '24 recruiting class, but not just for the recruits, but for the whole team). Then 9 for the '26 season and the full 12.6 for the '27 season according to out athletic dept.. So I sincerely doubt any player is getting a full ride. From w...

Re: Hobart 2025
Surprised Faiola is in the portal..doesn't like his chances v Wilson? He wants to start, like everyone who competes for a position. Guess he didn't get enough assurance that he would have a real shot at the job. IMO, he's the better stopper. No offesne to Wilson, who has kept us in some games we wo...

Re: ISL
I caught the 2nd half of MX over Govs. IT seemed to be Govs D was slower/didn't match up well with MX attack. Slides were late at best.

Re: Transfer Portal 2025
At some point colleges offering players NIL $$ are going to want to see some "return" on their "investment". What happens if the kid flames out or gets injured. Do any of us expect the schools involved to not call time out?

Re: Hobart 2025
I could be wrong, but I think Jacksonville is a program that will be on the decline without the plethora of players they brought in through the portal. They've already had recruited players leave. After the '25 season the only players in the portal will be redshirts and undergrads, so expect the #s ...

Re: Hobart 2025
John Jude will be a great shot in the arm, for sure. With regard to freshman playing next year, if more than 2-3 are playing then we’re in trouble. Hobart doesn’t get the Millon, Goldsteins or Spillinas… Few good teams play more than a couple freshman on their top 10. I’m very mixed in the whole tr...

Re: Hobart 2025
Should've been clearer: not that they weren't there mentally all year, but more as the season progressed. To put it another way: is the problem with the whole system or with the system makes/doesn't make adjustments. No first year arrives checked out and still plays. I don’t think many kids check o...

Re: Hobart 2025
This won't be a popular post, but I am also wondering whether, if they are hitting the portal, were they really mentally here this year? Maybe the team dynamics were not what they were said to be on the podcasts. I'm really disappointed, but at the same time there seems to be little to do about it....

Re: Hobart 2025
I really wonder if Raymond et al are aware of the players possibly hitting the portal? Does anyone think it's come up in the end of season conversations?
Kind of sad that the 1st round of D 1 playoff games hasn't been played and we're on page 9 of our 2025 season thread.

Re: Hobart 2025
One guy who hasn't been mentioned much for next year is Begina. He started pretty hot last year before getting injured. He's not big, but he's quick and aggressive. Di Tomasso is a pretty big guy. I've heard he has a great shot. There is talent that has been left on the bench. Begina had 2 serious ...

Re: Hobart 2025
Per his bio, Patterson has a brother(soccer player at Hobart) and an uncle who played football for the Statesmen; plus, he will have the reins of the offense for the next 3 years. Not saying he wouldn't leave, but I doubt it. Losing a player is unfortunate--especially given Hobart doesn't use the p...

Re: Hobart 2025
FYI, the team that hits the field in '25 will have 6 scholarships to work with, 9 for the '26 season and the full 12.6 for the '27 season. I don't think we will start to see the effect of the scholarship $$ really take effect until '26. Figuring out how to divide the $$ up among recruits and current...
