Re: 2024 Pool C
Home team most likely to lose the first weekend. Union, Dickinson or Lynchburg Union by a longshot. The other two will probably be narrow favorites at worst; Union has to play a team that beat them by a million goals. Second year in a row that Union hosts a stronger seed. I believe Midd beat them ~...

Re: NESCAC
Dont be shocked if the conts shock the world today! Stylistically, i think this matchup isnt the best for the jumbos. Hamilton likes to control the ball and let their goalie makes saves, so we will see if tufts is able to get up and down today. They were tied 9-9 deep in the third of the mustang cl...

NCAA Proposal re Tournament Selection Criteria
Saw this posted on the DIII soccer board, but hadn't seen discussion here (mod's please delete if there is already a thread). The NCAA is considering moving to a power index mechanism to select teams for DIII tourneys. Full report here: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/committees/d3/champs/Mar2024D3...

Re: NESCAC
I would venture to guess some of those LL kids were strung along in the recruiting process at some of the NESCAC schools they are now beating...karma IME, your guess is not correct. I know a bunch of kids playing in/committed to programs in both leagues and AFAIK this did not happen to any of them....

Re: NESCAC
Williams laying a beating on Christopher Newport (with Williams goalie at 29% and CNU winning 68% of FO!!!) demonstrating again the weakness of southern lax this year outside of Salisbury. For all the talk of what good OOC wins NESCAC team have, what good OOC winds do any of those teams have? Teams...

Re: NESCAC
Hamilton to 4-2 and Middlebury getting the win over Conn. Thoughts on today: Williams @ Trinity - If there is time for them to show some life... it's now. Off a 3rd straight win Trinity in an upset Bates @ Wesleyan - Thinking Wesleyan gets back to scoring ways and wins by double digits Tufts @ Stev...

Re: NESCAC
You can talk about all the guys who have moved on and contributing to D1 teams, that is completely insignificant, Best on Best was not close, Middlebury is 0-2 losing to RPI and Union ... To make matters even worse, Midd actually had 3 starters from 2023 return as "super seniors" instead ...

Re: NESCAC
Meaning Babson also put a shorty on an attackman and double poled the middies? I haven’t see this in person so can’t really see how it is being done. Does the same guy just stay on and stay on the defensive side of the field the whole game? Do they rotate in SSDM for the role? Does he ever switch t...

Re: NESCAC
What is going on with Middlebury? They looked just awful today! Rough weekend for Midd. Nothing to add to the good points above about the Bowdoin game. The defense rebounded against Babson (getting their top LSM back certainly helped), but the offense continues to scuffle. RPI/Bowdoin/Babson clearl...

Re: NESCAC
Way to much iso from Midd, missed the first half, not sure how they scored 8 there playing like this, having an attack draw a shortie for the whole game is crazy Only caught the second half, but this was wild to watch in real time. So curious to watch the Middlebury/Bowdoin game to see if it contin...

Re: NESCAC
I think Amherst is better than the result vs Midd might indicate - Lord Jeffs committed a whopping 10 turnovers in the first quarter which spurred the early Midd run and offset Kopp's strong performance at X. They only had 6 turnovers in the entire second half, which was more evenly played (8-8). A...

Re: NESCAC
Amherst has Springfield and Hamilton up next, but to me the bigger game for them in the near future is Swarthmore in about 10 days. This one should be a super good game / test for both teams in my mind Hamilton just scored 20+ goals for the 1st time since they joined the NESCAC. Amherst can't affor...

Re: NESCAC
Didn’t see the game and can’t say I am familiar with Emerson’s style of play but the game did end 16-15. That would seem awfully high scoring for slowdown stall ball. Bates still has a very long build to respectability but it is nice for them to win a game like that rather than lose it. Didn't see ...

Re: NESCAC
Anyone have updates from today’s scrimmages? No updates but I heard Conn was scrimmaging Amherst next weekend. Probably a pretty good preview for two mid-tier 'cac teams to see where they are at! Weird that it's happening though. Don't coaches want to scrimmage out of conference teams? Most OOC tea...
