Re: NCAA Tournament Games Scheduling Disgrace
THE PREMIER day? On a Thursday? At noon on a work day?? There’s no way to make that sound better no matter how you phrase it. As a former player I remember my quarterfinals fondly.. on a SATURDAY in May. And while the girls should absolutely be televised to the same extent as the men’s game, who ca...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2024
Somehow I doubt much dust will be kicked up over Boston College's port-o-potty's this Thursday after Syracuse's Tentgate...

Re: NCAA Tournament Games Scheduling Disgrace
I disagree with this topic. The start times have improved much since just a few years ago. Obviously there could be improvements made but the women folk in D1 have done a pretty decent job at making their games more accessible to watch. Coming up Thursday is THE premier day in women's lacrosse as ea...

Re: OuttaNowhereWregget--Redux
I always appreciate the teams (except Towson, of course) who wear their typical road colors rather than the alternate black uniforms. They're all so ugly. Whose idea was it to make black an alternate uniform color, anyway?

Re: 2024 Women’s Tewaaraton Watch List
You have to remember that every team game plans for Scane and she gets the other teams best defender or two. Tewey committee has to look beyond stats in the future and even consider defenders - too many players on average teams playing tons of minutes and putting up insane stats. Put them on Top 4 ...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2024
The red card is sufficient. Sitting out the rest of the game and the next game is punishment enough. I agree there should be postgame reviews on such plays with punishment meted out retroactively. But would the NCAA shell out the money to facilitate that? Highly doubtful to no frickin way. No, it's...

Re: 2024 Women’s Tewaaraton Watch List
... examples of this are Dirks when she went to UNC, Kerrigan Miller when she went to UNC - even Lopinto and Clarke when they went to BC. All great players but when you are playing with AA's all over the field your role and output changes a bit. Really dont think 2 of the Tewey finalists would be f...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2024
Huh? Neither does Notre Dame.. Stony Brook lost to the higher seed and was not a favorite in this game. How is that underachieving? Notre Dame allows (I'll put it that way) all kinds of preseason hype about their program and how they are a threat to win it all. Halfpenny herself got caught up in it...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2024
Huh? Neither does Notre Dame.. Stony Brook lost to the higher seed and was not a favorite in this game. How is that underachieving? Because every year we hear Spallina tell us how his team doesn't get any respect and will raise some eyebrows, and most years his team is bounced in the 1st or 2nd rou...

Re: NCAA Tournament 2024
Same old Notre Dame, huh? A couple of big wins during the regular season and then nothing in the post season. Could say the same about Loyola Every year…..same ole… The only difference is Loyola doesn't tell you how great they are every preseason. Add Stony Brook to the postseason underachievers as...

Re: 2024 Women’s Tewaaraton Watch List
Well, all of the Tewaaraton finalists are out except Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor, and Izzy Scane now has the career goal record. Is there a question as to who might win? If the voting was today, and all the numbers were taken into account, I'd have to give it to Taylor. Scane broke CN record for ...

Re: Spidey's Sports Book
I always enjoy your writeups, Spidey. Funny--this season has dragged by for me. Interesting the different perspectives different folks have. These are all excellent lines as none of them jump out at me. That's what makes a line good. Doesn't matter what they look like after the money's in the coffe...
