Re: Hobart 2025
Was told by a Hobart alum and D1 coach that schools are allowed to stack athletic scholarship money and financial aid money now. This was not the case even a few years ago. Basically, with a $65k price tag and say a kid gets a 1/2 scholly and $10k aid, you're talking less than $25k/year. That's 25 p...

Re: Hobart 2025
Pegasus, Re: Transfer portal, I guess you're unaware of the number of players transferring and upgrading teams--too numerous to put to list. Was hoping that the use of scholarship money may nudge Raymond in that direction, doesn't appear likely. As far as not playing enough players on the roster, I ...

Re: Hobart 2025
Having played for DJU, I'm admittedly spoiled. Atmosphere was highly competitive, yet fun(I guess winning helps). Agree 100% with Lakelax and the need for Raymond to learn to change. That UMass 9 goal, 4th quarter breakdown was frustrating beyond belief. Why not switch to zone for a possession or tw...

Re: Cornell 2024
Always enjoy watching the Big Red—except when they play the purple and orange. Disagree with VRR, though. Cornell definitely has the talent to attack from behind like Princeton—probably even more talent with the emergence of Goldstein. Kirst can dodge from anywhere. Not having Long available was a d...

Given NCAA travel restrictions, I think Albany goes to Cuse; Utah to Denver and ND hosts St Joes, agree with the other matchups…

Re: Hobart 2025
A big concern of mine is the departure of Coach Gray. Have heard great things about what he has accomplished with strength and conditioning at Hobart. If Coach Brundage were to interview elsewhere, good for him, but would be a tough loss. Is there any credibility to the Ashmore rumors? Interested t...

Re: Mount St. Mary's 2024
The Mount always had a bunch of new faces that Gravante was able to mold into conference contenders every year. Wonder how new coach felt when his old school went D1 after he left?

Re: Hobart 2025
I don't recall DJU ever giving us a "fire and brimstone" speech. The upperclassmen set the tone--per DJU's guidance--and everyone followed suit. It wasn't for everyone & those that didn't buy-in were quickly ostracized/cut. To wit, practices were often more intense than some games. The...

Re: Hobart 2025
If it is indeed "motivation", then Hobart is recruiting the wrong student/athlete. As John Wooden said: "show me a good coach and I'll show you good players". If you need a coach to motivate you to play at this level, then you aren't at the level to begin with. Motivation comes ...

Where the hell is Joey Spallina on the All-ACC team? Someone in an earlier post said this is based off of ACC games only. Horseshit...it's based off the entire season. They quote their stats for the WHOLE season in the article that was released 2 days ago. Hiltz is on the team over Spallina? Seriou...

Re: Hobart 2025
Interesting that the Hobart website announcing the A10 selections states at the end, "...beset by injuries...4-9" Why is it that EVERY year we are bitten by the injury bug? I think we can all agree that the game was much more physical during the prior decades, and yet I don't remember anyt...

Re: Coaches Fired for Cause
The buzzwords "lack of institutional control" are thrown around a lot. FWIW, I'm not in favor of any coach getting fired for a player's dumb decision. I suppose any alleged transgression by a student-athlete should be reviewed independently(but no one asked me!).

It wasn't about the truth in the Duke story (Which is the name of a book about the scandal)....Bad look 100000%....Politically motivated railroading also true...Duke and Nifong got hit in the piggy bank once the real truth came out...But the damage was already done...Duke Lacrosse will ALWAYS have ...
