Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

Not sure how you don't follow it- but those PA teams have a fantastic tradition and are often very strong.

As for this year, the MIAA might not have a top 5 team in the country, but 6 of the 11 teams have already been nationally ranked in the top 25, so far.

That's insane for one conference.

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

CH loses to Malvern 13-9.
Loyola Loses to Bullis 11-8...and it wasn't that close.
Gilman loses to Western Reserve (OH) 10-9.
St Mary's holds a powerful LaSalle team to just 4 goals. But unfortunately only scores 2.
At least McD won.

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Ok age is an answer that at least supports it. Though I don’t know the Brundage relates to his kids any better but maybe. Once you’re in your 30s I don’t see anyone really relating well. (Btw a Hobart person I know who’s got info insists Patterson was changed to 4 star but I don’t see it and don’t ...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

Yeah, Hill is sneaky good. They seemed to be toying with CH for much of yesterday. Then in the second half they decided to put them away. To travel and play 2 games back to back like that is very difficult. Road doesn't get any easier for them tomorrow and Friday. Probably a tougher 2 game stretch. ...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

Hill beats JC 15-7 and are headed to CH today. I think I’m going to the BL Lawrenceville game on Saturday. Should be in New York for the weekend, and truthfully have zero interest in New York City/shopping etc. Looks to be about an hour away. BL might need to atone for St Paul’s loss to St Ignatius...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

He would be an easy get too. Don't bet on that. Coach Brundage is the associate head coach, an endowed position at Hobart. If anything, I would think his next move would be an HC job. Loyola's previous 2 coaches were guys who were previous 5-6 year Loyola assistants and associate head coaches. Woul...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

I didn’t realize that today Culver was playing at St Anthony’s. Wow. You have to congratulate these high school coaches for scheduling like this. St A, Culver, St Ignatius, St Paul’s. We would have killed to play teams for other states back in my day. 5-4 half St Anthony’s. And another- The Hill Ac...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

All of these A-league schools don't really care who they play. Yes they want to win every game, but they will schedule anyone, anywhere, anytime. All with the main goal of getting ready for conference play. It's a really fun mindset.

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

TP is no slouch. Most of their team plays for WC Stars and they have multiple commits to schools like JHU, Rutgers, UMASS and Army.

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Vaikness has a reputation for teaching great fogos. We've been waiting with this group. Haven't had a great one since the rules changed a couple years ago. Clears have a tendency to stink at the start of the year for most teams. Its a hard thing to practice with game intensity. I don't care who is c...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

Faceoffs is one position where its easy to argue the value of a player. It looks like they went to the freshman heavy for Towson and Colgate, but went back to Pacheco against Duke. That might be matchup driven. But statistically, there has been big difference in the end result. Both at at 38-40% At ...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

On paper, this will be SP's best team in a while.
Whether that is enough to make the final four is another question.

Re: The Biden - Harris Era.

One of them has done a good job as president. One enriched his family and select associates while failing on all campaign promises and breaking innumerable laws and lying 30,000 times in 4 years. If that were remotely the feeling among independents and non-MAGA republicans, he would be a slam dunk ...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~

My takeaways: Clear was much better this week. That is how we need to clear every time out. That needs to continue for the Hounds to have success. 2nd Q turnovers seemed excessive. But I think that might have been the weather. They cleaned that up the second half, which was a good sign. That was a b...

Re: The Biden - Harris Era.

You need to catch up. I have long said that Trump is less the problem than his movement; someone will want to inherit the mantle of this perverse cancer and its 30-40 million adherents. But the idea that we all just accept him for another four years -- policy free, platform free, vindictive, self-i...

Re: The Biden - Harris Era.

Be careful what you wish for. Biden didn't want to leave the country for Trump to ruin. Instead, Trump lost and stuck around for another 4 years polluting the political landscape. Trump needs to win this year and finish out his second term so the country can all move on. Otherwise he'll be running ...
