Re: Too Early 2023 Rankings - USA Lax
My two cents: Md. Lots of talent returning. Best coaching staff in the business. BC. Lost a lot of talent, but returns a lot of talent. Won't be as good as 21-22, but won't need to be. Cuse. Not sure why, but if they are (finally) able to dodge the injury bug, I see them having a good year. I'm a b...

Re: Transfer Portal
Nice get for florida. People forget Warehime was one of the most exciting players emerging out of UNC with that Ortega, Rose Growney class. Solid contributor her freshman season on a stacked team with McCool. Yes…Warehime Hillman and Hall were all 2018 ..and they all played for Sky Walkers, and I t...

Re: Transfer Portal
Didn’t know that she attended Man Valley. For a free, one year subscription to FanLax, and without googling, name another lacrosse star who attended that high school, overlapping with Warehime a couple of years. Not Lizzy Colson….because I am pretty sure Warehime was at rival North Carroll until it...

Re: North Carolina
UNC and its 7 grad year starters, 5 of which are AA's and the other two of which are All Conference caliber players squeaked out a one goal victory and of course you want to point to the poor officiating. Oh, by the way BC had one grad player on the field. Better hope for some more good transfers n...

Re: North Carolina
With all the 5th years and transfers, who do we think is starting for UNC on attack and midfield? Moreno Nalls Trenchard Dorsey? Neumen? Ortega Warehime Wurzburger Mastro Growney Hillman/Humphrey Dirks Dont forget Aldave....she's listed as attack Oh for heaven’s sake. I did forget her. UNC’s issue ...

Re: Syracuse
Kids are transferring out of PSU, not to it. Not very happy in happy valley. We know Dirks signed with Carolina. GK Suplee entered the portal but I haven't heard if she signed elsewhere. What other players have left? Suplee went to USC. Sydni Rosa also left for Delaware to play for old coach Bev Al...

Re: Atlantic Coast Conference
Does this help or hurt the women's game? Depending on how the league is set up, it will greatly impact teams all over the country. The ACC teams will have fewer out of conference games most likely, meaning that teams that had played ACC in out of conference games will no longer have the ability now...

Re: North Carolina
Few things. I think you guys are gushing a bit much on Warehime. A whopping 12 points as an attacker her sophomore year and 45 points last year. I saw her as mostly a 4th option cutter and recipient of passes from Hoeg when teams were focused on Ortega. People on this sight talk like CW was so good...

Re: North Carolina
The more I think about this, the more I'm almost completely sure Wurzburger quarterbacks the team from behind the net next season. Neither Ortega nor Mastroianni have played behind the goal QB-ing for the Heels before. That's always been where Katie Hoeg set up shop--that is, until last season when...

Re: The Boston College Eagles - 2021 National Champions
I see UNC as the best team on paper again next year with all the senior and grad student talent they have coming back including 2 Tewaaraton finalists. I see them followed by BC, Cuse and NW once again. Thoughts? I’d put Cuse over BC personally, they will have Constantino, Carney and Hawryschuk bac...

Re: 2021 Tournament Thoughts
Politics and agendas do indeed to seem to rule the day. The committee seems to have used this "subjective" year (and no Ivy AQ and 1 or 2 other AL bids) to include some teams that in other seasons, despite having a "good" year, would not have made the field. Since I will probabl...

Re: ACC Tourney
Pitt comes into league next year to make 9 ACC women’s lax teams. Guessing there will be a Monday or Tuesday 8 vs.9 play in game to keep an 8 team bracket format?
Or will the league continue with only 8 tourney teams and #9 seed is out?

Re: ACC Tourney
Agreed, I know the difference between seventh and eighth doesn’t seem like a big deal, but in reality it is to those 2 teams. IMO, That game should have been rescheduled

Re: ACC Tourney
One of the two UNC @ Va Tech games was Covided out, and never made up so both teams only had 9 games. That was the only ACC regular season game not to be played I believe? So Va Tech gets 7th seed by winning percentage I’m assuming?

Re: Don’t get your hopes up!
Don’t get too excited at the prospect of the Evil Empire getting a running clock on TL’s Laxchix...particularly in the first half. This is TL’s twenty-first (21st) season loving TL’s Terps and don’t recall a running clock on them ever. (Not saying it hasn’t happened and will do a bit of rese...

Re: Success in HS does not equal success in College
IMHO, it’s simple, at least on the offensive side of the ball. Many, not all, kids are 1 trick ponies who only learn/know how to play the game by putting their head down and barreling to goal when they are developing. Some of these kids are great athletes, maybe have average stick work, but their at...

Re: Extra year granted
You read it here first. (OK, second. Just posted on FB.) North Carolina will win the 2021 NCAA Division I women's lacrosse title. Heck, their JV could win it as well. If the entire senior class was to return (Hoeg, Wakefield, DiVietro, etc.) combined with the talent coming into the side (Caitlyn Wu...
