Re: Brown 2024
Man a quant like you I would’ve expected “risk averse” from. You’re hanging out in my hood if you’re going to start using colorful and incendiary normative comments. I welcome it! https://youtu.be/oG6fayQBm9w?si=sjd0D4I802nSzDjK LOL, I didn't think pointing out that university administrators are ri...

Re: Cornell 2024
Gt takes it, after getting a shot clock reset that replay showed they clearly should not have gotten.
Big Red's hopes dodge the first of 3 bullets.

Gonna wait for the end to run RPI.
Gt has tied it, but Nova's ball, 47 sec to go, time out, shot clock off
AND they're going to OT, 10-10

Especially since nothing else was working.
In the dept of more bad news, Nova leads Gt 10-8 with 10 min to play, after trailing 8-1.

Re: 2024 Bracketology
CU77... do you agree with the committee chairs? I think you're a strictly math guy and prob do? Any bias there for Big Red? No. I would like to see a 9-team NCAA tournament of conference-tournament-winners only. But since absolutely no one agrees with me on that: then I would use Massey ratings to ...

Multiple committee chairs have said over the years that a win in May means no more or less than a win in February.

Re: 2024 Bracketology
A Princeton loss to Penn will drop their RPI below Cornell.

Re: Cornell 2024
Well, the bracket isn't set yet. They are position to be the last at large team depending on the results of Georgetown/Villanova, Michigan/PSU and maybe even Penn/Princeton? I think the Michigan/PSU game is most consequential (Michigan wins and they're likely out), and the results of the other game...

Re: Cornell 2024
Cornell still has a shot at a bid if Penn, Penn State, and Georgetown all win. Princeton will drop below Cornell in RPI with a loss to Penn, and does not have a top-5 win, whereas Cornell does.

I dunno, they spent some time during Yale-Princeton game talking about the great culture of Cornell lax and how it's persisted over the decades.
And you know that Hop fans all believe that Q hates Hop (his alma mater), right?

Re: Brown 2024
Respectfully, can you name one thing JT did wrong at Amherst that would support a foolish statement like this? It's not what JT did, it's the fraidy-cat nature of university administrators, especially in the current environment. The very last thing the Brown admin needs right now is a new controver...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
FWIW, I didn't mean to cheat. I'm simply pointing out: if salaries of your faculty/ancillary staff are even 20% covered by a specified grant/donation, that's a lot of money you don't have to take out of the General Fund to pay for stuff. I'll quit after this, but: that's not how the accounting work...
