Playing goalie is the hardest position by far, both mentally and physically. There are a lot of talented D1 goaltenders that never get much of a chance between the pipes.

Happy to see Merrimack get its first game in against BU and some lacrosse action in New England. Hopefully the worst is behind us (Covid wise) and we see more normal seasons for many teams.

That’s too bad. Hopefully they get back to practices soon. The good news is Massachusetts has been trending in the right direction with regard to Covid so hopefully this is the last time this happens.

I think it all comes down to chemistry, and Bertrand clearly has that, hopefully Holden will too. Certainly seems Merrimack will may struggle without him.

The only college I heard giving students a break was Princeton, which I think lowered tuition by 10%. Others like Merrimack actually increased tuition and tacked on a Covid fees.

Maybe the league only has those 9 teams and they’re only playing in league games.

My guess is liberal universities will fall in line and put athletics on the back burner. Hopefully we get some seasons from the rest. This has got to be tough on athletes that have trained to get this far.

Bernhardt and Aitken make sense to me. Bernhardt to my knowledge never enrolled at another school. Either he graduated last year and maybe he’s doing some post grad classes right now; or maybe he didn’t graduate last year and is finishing this year. Not sure what other teams are up to but looks like Jacksonville started practices according to their Instagram and inside lacrosse. Hopefully we see more of this!
