Re: What's up with all the RECLASS
I imagine that life at a big time P5 D1 as a redshirt is a MUCH better experience than at a G5 or lower level size/type of college, in terms of classes, social life, football season, girls, and so on.

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
i gather this thread is typically built for head coaching moves, but i can't help but notice that VMI is once again without assistant coaches. sean doyle left after 1 year to return to almamater RMU. casey macdonald is not on campus, hearing he is not going back. former legend head coach doug bartle...

Gust is the government man from Charlie Wilson's War who did the real orchestration of the covert war in Afghanistan.

Let's do the ROUGH math: $30,000/yr before taxes let's call it 30% in taxes $21,000/yr $1750/mth $405/wk someone working fast food at $15/hr 8 40 hrs/week makes more than that. not to mention MOST D3 asst. coaches have to pay their own travel expenses for recruiting. even with the recruiting checks,...

Re: Sensible Gun Control
the answer is simple: put gun education back in schools, along with archery, shop, home economics, etc. when you KNOW what you're dealing with and are taught the true respect of the TOOL, the desire to use it for harm is diminished. also, teachers can ID students with psycho tendencies/red flags to ...

Re: High School Showcase
the trick with Minn. is that kids have amazingly affordable college opportunities to stay in state.
getting them to leave is really hard without big academic scholarships to make it anywhere close to comparable.

the game is growing. more opportunity to play at various locations. if you have the means, why not? someone touched on late bloomers. this is a huge percentage of the reason. a lot of wonderful athletes are finding lacrosse a little later in life and their bodies or their academics just are not read...

League structure:
parents with little to 0 lacrosse experience are running too many programs with their egos driving quality coaches out. the kids and the game continue to suffer.
what else is new?

Re: Women’s Lacrosse Needs Parity
Division 1 women’s lacrosse desperately needs parity. Since 2005 only four teams have won the national title. Apart from one-hit-wonder JMU, there have been only Maryland, North Carolina and Northwestern hoisting the hardware. And NU hasn’t won since 2012. I don’t know what can be done about it, bu...

an scary precedent is being set for these women in life. what is going to happen when their boss leaves and a new boss comes in? are they going to walk out on their career? sure-a Yale degree opens many doors. but when you walk through a few doors, new doors are not opening like you think they will ...

Centre will make a large leap forward. their coaching staff has been all over the map at every event possible to recruit. Hendrix will continue to struggle to get top tier d3 players to suburban little rock, arkansas. the school is beautiful but the high price tag, all of that travel and a lack of o...

Not sure if this is a neutral, negative or positive note but VMI lost the DC (Sean Doyle) this weekend as he moved to Robert Morris. Good luck to him. Outstanding person each time I had anything to do with him. I know at least one person has interviewed who is not an entry level hire. how many assi...
