Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

If anyone thinks Collison should just continue passing the ball to Bauer and setting picks for him … say so here. I think many here believe Collison has first team AA potential. Passing the ball to a teammate guarded by a long pole and setting picks for the teammate is not what a first team AA midf...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

-Why he let an unproductive Melendez go the whole season not giving his expected output I think his performance in the QFs showed why they wanted him on the field. He came up big in the big game. Hopefully something for him to build on in 2025. Melendez is a bit of a puzzle. There were a number of ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

I think people have to account for the freshmen and if any of them will step up like Collison did his first year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oYVVGkMfL4 Not much insight although PM states the transfer class will be small (for positions of need only and to respect those who paid their dues on ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

I will also add that one of the more concerning issues was basically the entire offense (outside of English) returned and the offense took a decided step back. Angelus and Degnon are real, impactful losses. But there is a chance the offense is better next year despite those losses if: - English com...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025

I have to give PM a lot of credit for bringing in Ierlan. He was the best goalie we've had in many many years. A pleasure to watch. Melendez came up huge in the QFs. You can't ask much more than 4 goals and he would have gotten the game winner if Angelus had just flipped him the ball in the 4th Quar...

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30

Just caught up with this thread. The trolling became quite ridiculous. Syracuse is a lacrosse 'brand' but Hopkins isn't?? Taking nothing away from Syracuse, which has a storied history as well, but it ain't close. The refs were on the take??? Idiocy. This is intentional trolling. See it as such. Th...

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30

the fact that there are posts about that play 4 days later is evidence it was controversial - it did not in and of itself decide the game - just one of a gazillion plays. Hopkins was still free to win the game. Win more face-offs/get more groundballs and avoid 9 failed clears and 20+ turnovers and ...

Re: QF #3 Hopkins vs #6 Virginia Sunday @2:30

I am pretty sure professional tennis is done electronically, hence the shadow ball marks on the lines in 3 seconds...i think the call on the field is only used when video replay is questionable right. Obviously it wasnt clear if he did step on the crease or not. I was at the game but when you watch...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Take your p values and put them where the sun doesn't shine because they have no relevance here. 1. I believe any statistician - even if this was something that could be measured by probabilities and statistics - would tell you 5 kids in 7 years is a sample size incredibly too small to draw any con...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

So I ran the numbers. It's basically the probability of hitting a target 5 times out of 7 given the probability of success is 0.1 (maybe you're shooting artillery or something) What??? What??? Have you ever seen a professional play darts? Ever watched archery or shooting in the Olympics? Do you thi...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

UVA has been the top program for quite some time. They have success, solid education, and a beautiful campus. Lars has the easiest sell in all of lacrosse. UVa is not competing with 60 programs. Its really just a handful at most. There's actually probably at least a dozen teams out there with great...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

There are other top schools out there that get teams to final fours like Duke, MD, Notre Dame. UVA getting 5 out of 7 top players defies the laws of probability with 60+ programs out there. They are obviously giving full rides out and I suspect, something more. I have no inside knowledge, but somet...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Behind-the-scenes video of Millon's commitment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXpn1G9Q-4U PM was the first coach to call him at midnight. Crawley also called shortly after. Then they visited his house the next day. Hopkins was in his own words in his top 4. Ended up deciding to play with his brot...

https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/breaking-virginia-lands-no-1-junior-brendan-millon/62130 For the fifth time in seven recruiting cycles, Virginia has secured a commitment from the No. 1 player in the class, with the Wahoos continuing their recent hot streak by snagging top-ranked junior Brend...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Well then this is pretty embarrassing for you because you're wrong. The staff was very high on an attackman who happened to be listed as a 5-star on IL in this class and from what I understand they came close to landing him but he decided to go to a rival. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometim...
