Re: Syracuse 2021
from syracuse.com The arrest stems from an April 17 domestic incident at a South Campus apartment. Scanlan is accused of breaking a woman’s phone and a physical altercation with her, the DA said. The criminal mischief charge stems from her broken phone; the physical altercation did not result in any...

Don't know how strictly this was enforced for lacrosse. It could help players who think a different ACC school would be a better fit.

This year will not count toward eligibility, regardless of whether they play or not. This applies to all D3 athletes. https://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/presidents-council-approves-blanket-waiver-all-diii-student-athletes So in theory Freshman and Sophomores on the 2021 roster h...

New Face Off Rules
Small sample to date but what's your opinion on the new face off rules? My only complaint is a carry
over from the old rules, on a before the whistle illegal procedure , I want a method for the official to relay the nature of the violation i.e. false start, leaning, alignment.

Re: NESCAC 2020
Spineless Ivy League Admin have cancelled league play for the spring but they may allow limited, local non conference competition if conditions improve. Working with the NCAA for a blanket waiver for those who might participate in a contest this spring.
Will NESCAC follow?

NCAA TO DOWNSIZE DIVISION II NATIONAL TOURNAMENTS; DIVISION III COULD FOLLOW You can change COULD FOLLOW to WILL FOLLOW. The original format isn't going to happen and the NCAA will consider some semblance of a tournament a success for 2021. Schools that are tuition dependent are going to do everyth...

NCAA Max and Mins
I know the NCAA has been steadfast in maintaining the minimum number of sports at 16 but eased the minimum number of overall athletic scholarships. In DII or DIII the NCAA has reduced both the maximum number of contests as well as the minimum. I think I read 13 and 7 for DII but need verification. I...

Re: Furman Disbands
Can you play club if you're receiving aid from a disbanded team? Depending how many players stay Furman has the foundation for a excellent club team, same with baseball. This may be part of their strategy as there are many club teams in the area. Support a club program enough to attract 10 club memb...

Re: How many schools will drop lacrosse?
This is from about a month ago when Conference Administrators petitioned the NCAA for relief on maintaining 16 teams for BCS schools. Coaches of non revenue sports were concerned enough to formally oppose the request. It's conceivable varsity programs would consist of Men's Football and Basketball w...

Re: Here we go again with the Face Off
Yeah, what do the old guys know? They have only seen it all and tried it all. Including faceoffs. We know what NOT to do, for sure- "The clock is on the field!" And the alternate possession rule became an acceptable alternative to holding a faceoff anywhere on the field when officials did...

Re: Here we go again with the Face Off
I could solve the problem with clamping and wrestling at the face off x by reinstating one simple rule, allow body checks of the face off men. I don’t care what grip you’re using, nobody is hanging out at the x any longer than they have to when the wing guys have you lined up with a full head of ste...

Re: Summer Lacrosse 2020
At the D1 level, I cant see many more 2021's getting recruited. The most well known are already recruited. These High School players entering college will have a tough road ahead for 4 years until the extra year players clear out. PG/red shirt will be in the cards for many along with reclass at HS ...

Recruits entering Fall 2021 & 2022
Between little or no lacrosse this spring and many of this summer recruiting events in limbo what is the status on these classes? If I read the rules correctly the NCAA timetable allows contact after Sept 1 of Junior Year. Did coaches see enough between last summer and some fall tournaments to make ...

Re: NESCAC 2020
We await guidance from the NCAA about eligibility for spring post-season play . Is that a glimmer of hope? IF we get to post season play how will the NCAA address teams that were forced into a shortened season? Could the NESCAC just declare Conference Champion? Obviously we're in unchartered waters...

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health professor Marc Lipsitch told the Wall Street Journal this week that “it is likely we’ll see a global pandemic” of the coronavirus with up to 70 percent of people infected worldwide. If College Presidents use this type of information we'll see restrictions o...
