Re: Collegiate Lacrosse Coverage is Lacking
Couple of thoughts on this. when there is nobody at games during February and early March, playing in some venues surrounded by snow banks, does not make for good tv why is it the most important game, the ncaa championship finals, played on one days rest but during the season it's one game a week......

Re: Hobart 2024
One of the many problems Hobart has, is saddled with playing lacrosse in Jan, Feb and March in Geneva NY. This Syracuse game was played on a field surrounded by snow banks and a crowd of just over 700......freaking snow banks!....thanks to them for showing up in their winter gear and gloves to cheer...

Re: Should The Final Four Be Held A Week Later So Can Be Held At Navy?
If you want to be considered a "big-time sport", you need to play on a lacrosse field. Not sharing a football field, with all the lines, etc. So any stadium which can hold a reasonable size crowd, with a lacrosse-only field gets my vote. Having a large empty stadium with football lines all...

Re: Hottest players going into the tournament
The Referees for taking the hitting out of the game. Example, the hit on the Michigan defense men by the Maryland midfielder was as clean as it gets. Perhaps they will outlaw the poke check, and the slap check because they might leave a little black and blue mark on the poor offensive players arms. ...

Any campus that has an actual Lacrosse Field.
Watching a Lacrosse game on a football field feels like a JV sport with all the excess lines, how confusing.

Re: Does Gary Gait Turn Syracuse Around & Make Them A Regular Power?
IMO Gait used this year to get his feet wet coaching guys lacrosse, see what talent he had, how the assistants interacted with him, the players, game prep, and game situation. Sure he has time and leeway to put his stamp on the program. Believe there will be improvement moving forward as he begins t...

Re: Georgetown 2022
As Richmond will see in the film, so will Georgetown, how a simple lacrosse 101 communication error led to defeat. Yes, Gtown should have done better with 1:30 possession but once the turnover happened, the D had to step up. However, the out top pick with the Delaware two middies caused the communic...

Re: 2022 NCAA Mens LAX tournament
Richmond had the game won, 3 lacrosse 101 mistakes : Clearing the ball with 59 seconds left, Richmond defensemen passed to standing still midfielder...checked from behind...taught in every level go to meet the ball. Penn with ball 30 second remaining, ball up top, defensemen forgets his guy is behin...

Re: Syracuse 2022
One of the reasons for lack of individual or team defense understandings/techniques is the lack of playing other sports as a young kid or in high school. Play basketball and the concept of playing one on one defense is taught from day one...from stance, shuffling, not reaching in, staying in positio...

Re: Hobart 2022
You can go one of two ways with adversity. The ability to execute under pressure, trust your teammate, stay calm, and develop mental toughness to win games all starts in practice. While I do not know enough about Raymond’s coaching tendencies, habits, and overall game strategy, it seems way early to...

Re: Denver 2022
Agree the bloom is off the rose, still, a strong program but the pizazz is now missing. Recruiting is now tougher without the pizazz, west coast kids want to play in warmer weather or a dome arena, east cost kids are still the bastion of lax and unless real compelling reason to leave probably stayin...

Re: Hobart 2022
Again, the mental breakdowns defensively continue to plague Hobart. Wrong slide, rotation, defensive position....maddening when it can be corrected. With that amount of goals scored on Cornell and Syracuse, both of those games could have been won. Until the mental errors defensively are corrected, l...

Re: Hobart 2022
The Hobart defense over the past couple of years lacks cohesiveness in team defense...this in my opinion is due to a lack of communication and trust. Knowing when to slide, where to slide from and rotational awareness frankly is not that hard. It takes an understanding of the defensive techniques an...

Re: Hobart 2022
looking at those stats:
its the defense; attitude, toughness, position, talking and basic team defense awareness all seem to be lacking according to those defensive stats.

Re: 2021 National Championship UVA vs UMD
Watching the game, IMO the difference was shooting. It Seemed Maryland missed the cage on several occasions with shots high or wide. Virginia simply put the ball on the cage more often, where they were very difficult saves for the goalie. I don't know if the stats agree with this but watching, Virgi...

Re: Duke vs Loyola
With 2 minutes to go, up 1, Loyola wins the face-off, has possession and starts substituting its face-off unit. A middie who is asked to come off the field throws the ball to a Defensemen near mid-field...immediately the Duke defense goes after the Loyola D man.. Did Loyola have a time out? If so, t...

Re: UVA vs Georgetown
Finally, after years of softening up the game of lacrosse, VA comes out and smash mouthes Gtown all over the field with physical play. Gtown, you were provided several opportunities in the first half to line up a VA player and put a clean hit on him. You passed and were constantly rocked all day...G...
