Re: Yale 2020

I thought the original reason given for the transfer from Albany had something to do with economics and his aspirations in the world of business. I recall that as well. TD was an Econ major at Albany according to the articles below so I’m not sure where the Poli Sci angle is coming from but whateve...

Re: Ivy League 2020

Some interesting opinion pieces in the Princeton newspaper yesterday and today from the lacrosse alums to the Princeton president and the president's response. Impressive to see the older alums make a unified statement like this and equally as impressive to see the President give them a courtesy of ...

Re: Maryland 2020

Yale generally doesn’t let their poles run in transition a lot, may not have been a great system fit. You must not have seen Robert Mooney play from 2016-2019... Yale had a ton of great poles this year including 3 other freshman defensemen who saw time this spring. Would have loved to see BJ stick ...

Sounds like Cornell and Brown trying to make it happen for their Seniors.
Penn too which was reported in previous articles and implied in this one.

Re: Transfer Portal

Sowers to Nova is my bet. Very good call IMO. Think Sowers to Villanova makes a ton of sense. They have a very good returning team. Could also see Aitken suiting up there after football season. Given everything going on in the world, taking that grad year close to home may be pretty appealing. Also...

Re: Ivy League 2020

Yale is following the same path as Princeton I heard Harvard as well but I have not heard about Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth or Penn. I was hoping each school would follow their existing guidelines but some withdrawal policies are more stringent than others. My guess is that this will be a league wide...

If this was up to the AD, she would have agreed 100% with you. The AD had nothing to do with this decision. Decisions like this are made at the top.

This is huge news and could be the start of a more significant trend. Big time D1 ahtletic program rejecting another year of eligibility for spring athletes. https://madison.com/wsj/sports/college/wisconsin-badgers-seniors-wont-return-to-spring-sports-in-2021-athletic-department-says/article_32a8530...

Re: Transfer Portal

I wonder if BJ Burlace was looking for the fifth year which he wouldn’t get at an Ivy like Yale. Probably is just looking for playing time. Not sure he stepped on the field this year. Maybe just looking for a better fit. Yale’s a great school but isn’t right for everyone. It happens everywhere some...

Re: Transfer Portal

You don't transfer from an institution like Yale because you're not seeing playing time as a freshman (or sophomore, junior or senior for that matter)! It's because you're not happy there at all... . When it comes to many college athletes, I think happiness and personal success are largely defined ...

Re: Ivy League 2020

One question: Realize the academic qualifications are there for most IVY students but would applications for graduate school be too late for Sept 2020 admissions? Excluding Phd and JD programs as well as most MBA programs, I think outside the Ivies that most D1 lacrosse schools will make late admis...

Re: Impact of IVY decision

Won't this be a 4-year issue? Since the NCAA granted every impacted player an extra year, aren't we looking at 4 straight years of Ivy league players possibly spending a 5th year at another institution? It's possible, yes. But given the current state of the economy, and the fact that the PLL and ML...

Re: Ivy League 2020

Quaker, good question. I just thought no-grad students was always the rule, but I'm sure that it wasn't always that way given how long these schools have been around. Problem with allowing grad students now is that the grad schools at each of the Ivies is vastly different. Harvard, Columbia, Cornell...

Re: Ivy League 2020

All of these kids will be fine regardless of whether or not they play another year. So will all of the Ivy League programs. The show will go on and will only get better in the future for everyone. Great leadership is accepting adversity and dealing with it. Whether it be an institution or individual...
