Re: Transfer Portal 2022
Good point but the Ivy League is not improving. I think if your school has a really good graduate program that players can get in that you can improve see Fuqua at Duke but not Michigan for some reason?

Re: Transfer Portal 2022
Is it fair to say if you had 3 starters or more from the transfer portal that would make you a big user? Just curious?

Re: Transfer Portal 2022
I think it might not affect HS recruiting so much. ND is a great school and Mom and Dad would love Johnny to go there. Also as a 17 year old to be recruited to ND, niow that is pretty cool but I think if they knew they would not be playing thats a different story. Unfortunately, every kid recruited ...

Re: UAlbany lacrosse coach wants to get rid of NCAA transfer portal
I see both sides to the argument but I am 100% against kids transferring mid season and being allowed to play immediately. BTW, I seem to remember Bill Tierney telling parents in 2013 that he would never take a kid who decommitted from another program at Denver and parents should teach their kids to...

Re: Army

Re: Army
I am always surprised when lax fans mention that the Academy has a Prep School and that gives them it a leg up. While it certainly does not hurt, how many other players on Syracuse, our any Ivy do a PG year? I know when my kids played it was used as a way through the recruiting process twice for lat...

Re: Penn State 2021
My only complaint with JT is he seems to totally ignore the lacrosse landscape of neighboring Northern NJ when he recruits players which is odd. No state other than PA is better represented in the student body more than NJ but unless your from South Jersey, which is by and large far weaker HS lacros...

Re: Army
Real as real can be! Down 6-1, and win 18-11 over a super hyped Orange squad with 5th and 6th year players in a "return to prominence" season. Just a tremendous performance! All hail the Black Knights of the Hudson! They're always a tough out, but this was truly special. who is 6th year a...

No one is a bigger Lacrosse fan than me and I guess if your parents are ok spending the money, but at some point don’t you have ask why are you playing College lacrosse for 6 years?
Its not like D1 Football or basketball where you are going for free!

I always felt that the “ Lars Tiffany”’s of the world could always find a helluva lacrosse players who looked like D1 football player from places like New Mexico, Oregon or South Dakota who plays for the latest Ubercool West Coast club, whose Mom and Dad are fly the friendly sky’s each weekend to th...

Re: New Jersey 2020
Lawrenceville also a very academically challenging school. I know nothing of Culver but if you are looking to just do a PG year to go an ACC school- it’s NO picnic. Kids and their parents mIght want to look at other less taxing options.....

Re: Transfer Portal
One of the realities of the transfer portal is some of these players will not necessarily find takers of their services. Think about it if you are a Head Coach and you have a full class of freshmen coming in and unless you are a real difference maker like Michael Sowers for example, some players are...

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
Both Cuse and Maryland regularly used transfers to add depth and to correct roster deficiencies, as did Loyola and others. So what ? Maybe Hop was not able to do that like Princeton, who knows but it makes HS recruiting that more important. It’s true that both Lars and Tambroni when they got to UVA ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2021
Dino is arguably the best coaching the game.....no one is disputing that. Look at what you just said, Dino was at Hofstra 21 years and made 8 NCAA tourneys and only 4 QF’s....no Final Fours or NC’s yet he was a Division 1 Coach of the Year..... Seth is not a Dino but coaching Hofstra is not so easy....

Re: Johns Hopkins Coach Search
Goes back to my point, kids look great at Nike Blue as rising sophomores when they are the fastest and best players out there....when they are fully grown at 5’9’’ and 175lbs going up against kids the same size who have not gone threw puberty. Look at Yale’s offensive midfield as compared to Hopkins...
