Re: NCAC 2024

Playoff semis today. No surprise I’m sure that I have OWU by 5 over Kenyon and Denison by 8 over Wooster. I hope the Big Red take notice of what happened to York yesterday in their semifinal game and don’t look past the Fighting Scottish Terrier’s! York was a 9 goal favorite by Massey and lost. Deni...

Re: NCAC 2024

Yes, Hamblett should definitely be there. I think the NCAC needs to throw a bone to someone from a school other than OWU/Denison. Kenyon FOGO Nelson? I agree that the NCAC would like to have more schools represented on the All-Decade Team but I read that to qualify, you need to have won one of the ...

Re: ODAC 2024

Even at a low level that is a lot of work. Going to go through this list more closely. Only thing that on a quick review I thought stood out was Brown under Elliot at midfield. Brown may get the single season goal scoring record at W&L. He has over 50 goals and shoots at 57%. Can’t think of any...

Re: NCAC 2024

As we wait for the NCAC playoffs to start on Thursday there is a big announcement due tomorrow! The NCAC 40th Anniversary All-Decade Team will be released by the conference. It covers the 2014-2023 competition years if I’m not mistaken. Who do you got being honored? Some names that readily come to m...

Re: NCAC 2024

Denison takes the first matchup of the season from OWU 10-8 in Delaware, winning the season conference title outright and earning home field for the Big Red in the NCAC Championship Tournament. Nice job gentlemen but that’s just one box checked. Celebrate the win tonight but get ready for the busine...

Re: NCAC 2024

Did anyone see this? https://www.instagram.com/p/C6HCQRSrAjB/ Swapping Hiram for JCU is great for the North Coast Surprised the PAC would take them back? Figured they would end up in the land of the former United East cast-offs (Hilbert, Laroche, etc.) Hiram returning to the Presidents' Athletic Co...

Re: CLC 2024

Moving back to CLC games for first round. Who moves on? Kean, MSU, Stockton, UMW? I’m going with UMW and Stockton. I think getting the 3 seed was a big deal this year as MSU has struggled while Stockton, Kean and UMW are all pretty even. UMW wins if they can win a few more faceoffs or make a few mo...

Re: NCAC 2024

Think today's Wooster-Kenyon game will tell us a lot about each team. Kenyon has had one of the weirdest seasons in D3 lacrosse purely from a results standpoint. Meanwhile, Wooster has pounded the weaker opponents on their schedule while struggling a lot vs the top end teams (minus the Ithaca game)...

Re: CLC 2024

I remember joining Laxpower after I graduated from Cabrini. I posted using my initials and college number MVP19. I was still pretty immature. A bunch of the regular posters ThatSmell, StewLaxDad, etc., they were basically the age I am now. The banter was always pretty fun. LaxDad seems like a good ...

Re: NCAC 2024

Two interesting games today. One with OWU beating Wooster handily. The other was a Denison Oberlin game that was much tighter than the final score looked. I believe that it was a 2 goal game with just under 10 mins left. Whether this shows Oberlin's strength or Denisons weakness, I do not know. Won...

I know Catholic University of America in Wash DC has a school of architecture. I would also assume all the techs would as well. RIT, RPI etc

Re: NCAC 2

I feel like Saturday is going to be huge for the 4th playoff spot as Wooster and Oberlin face off. Not sure if DePauw or Wittenberg can sneak in to that last spot so all eyes on Wooster this weekend. I would agree; I think the winner locks themselves in that 4 spot, barring a major upset. Neither t...

Re: NCAC 2024

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I think OWU will really give Denison a run for their money this year. They looked great against Oberlin. They were fast and clinical. I also think Denison is on a down year and looks more vulnerable than ever despite their 10 goal victory over Kenyon. Be...

Re: NCAC 2024

Can Opener - I agree with you. I think it's much better to have the benches and fans on the same side. Some sites have limitations and that's okay, but I never understood when a program had ample room to do it that way and yet chose to isolate the teams on the other side. Anyway, one thing I've fou...

Re: NCAC 2024

Ned...I agree that new stadium is NOT showcased on the otherwise excellent Big Red Network broadcasts. The camera view is from the press box and shows the teams are on the far side of the field, where there are no stands at all. Looks like no one is at the game. Minor pet peeve of mine is that many...

Re: NCAC 2024

... They miss Butler! One of the best finishers ever to play at Denison. 185 goals (4 short of all time record) and in just 3 years! Now he was “a lefty finisher” who could ping the corners or quick stick on the crease. Loved watching that 2017 team! Hello Ned, good to see you back. Yes, that 2017 ...

Re: NCAC 2024

Welcome back, Ned. Denison is still the team to beat, no argument about that from me. The surprise team so far might be Wooster (8-3), who beat up on Wittenberg 16-6, and has a good goalie, All-American on Defense and and a high-scoring attack unit. OWU is coming together, and has two exciting new ...

Re: NCAC 2024

BR attack hasn't found a lefty finisher. Good defenses have figured out that they only need to cover a bit more than half the field and can leave the left crease abandoned. Running into doubled up D is what causes the low SH% and high TO rate. The attack is talented and shifty enough to dodge aroun...
