Re: MASS HS Lax
Wow! Just saw the scores for BCH v Reading and also the Dux v X. I’m really surprised with X. They had those “super juniors” last year and should be absolutely stacked this season. Another less interesting score but still interesting is Foxboro beating Natick. Foxboro has a new coach and has tiny nu...

Re: ISL
What’s up with Austin Prep? They left the MIAA and seem to be trying to compete with the ISL and other prep schools. They scheduled a very aggressive lacrosse schedule and are getting beat up pretty bad. They probably will go winless this season. Are they competitive in other sports with the preps? ...

Re: Top 25 for 2024
Similar situation in Boston area. Public schools, with growing lacrosse programs 5-10 years ago, are now unable to field freshman and JV teams. All the “good” kids feel pressured to go play private. It appears lacrosse is once again a prep school sport like squash and crew. And to be totally honest,...

Re: ISL
Not necessarily lacrosse related: I do a lot of work at the wealthy public schools outside of Boston, the “W” towns, etc… Recently, I visited Sebs and RL. I had never been on these campuses before. I am a huge advocate for public school lax but the environment on these two ISL campuses was so superi...

Re: New England West 2024
Appreciate the response.
I get that but Twitter is typically “live” updates and scores are posted immediately.
Not sure where to get my real time updates now.

Does Wick not use Twitter anymore? They had a big following and up until 7 months ago stopped posting.

Any scrimmage info to report.
Longmeadow played a NY team yesterday but that’s all I know.

Re: Top 25 for 2024
If we are going to allow PG schools in the national rankings then why stop there? Let’s also include Junior Colleges in the rankings.
The kids are roughly the same age at AOF and Taft as they are at Onondaga CC.

Re: ISL
If I’m a stud lacrosse player in HS it would be a hard sell for me to go to The Lakes Region in NH to play.
The Connecticut prep schools would be much more appealing for both weather and level of competition.

Are you sure L’ville and Culver accept PG’s? I’m sure they have re-classes up the wazoo but not sure about post grads.

Let’s hope so. That would be really exciting. Who would ever expect those two teams to make it to championship weekend.

Great kid, still at PC but just trying to balance the freedom college provides with also being on a team with expectations.

Re: New England West 2024
I can only speak for Belmont Hill (Mass) but I think that they claim to have, hand selected students, from over 30 cities and towns - so far from just “kids from the neighborhood”.

Re: ISL
I worry too. I know plenty of towns that have really strong youth programs but the HS teams blows. I think lacrosse in Mass overall has slowed in its growth and progress due to towns not being able to produce competitive teams anymore. Any kid who is half decent feels obligated to jump ship and go p...

Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024
When I scroll thru current college rosters I’ll occasionally see players from MIAA schools listed with hometowns from Florida or Oregon, etc… I just always assumed that these schools did not have boarding options. I guess I was wrong. Do they all offer boarding and is this a new thing that is expand...
