Re: Maryland 2024

This thread reads like a post-mortem on a wasted season. You guys are performing an autopsy on the patient while he’s still alive, already looking at 2025. Man. Tillman could turn this around with one decision: go uptempo. You’ve got an AA first teamer at FOGO but you take the full shot clock to ge...

Re: Maryland 2024

He feels more like Shack to me; but agreed a Stanwick is the comparison My post even bringing them up was in response to someone saying that the guys coming in next year will push for starting attack roles. With everyone lamenting the lack of dodging, the comments about Ford and Gardiner don't seem...

Re: Maryland 2024

Regarding Spencer Ford, he's more like Eric Spanos size and style-wise. Wouldn't be surprised to see him follow Spanos' exact path. Gardiner out of Gonzaga is a strong lefty. Not sure he's exactly a dodger as much as a very good shooter. Higgins comes in for 26 season. He's your quintessential X att...

Re: Maryland 2024

Preemptive post: Anyone who brings up Bobby Benson, keep in mind 2 things. 1) During his two seasons running Tills' offense, he had Jared, Logan, Long, Donville, Khan, and DeMaio. 4 of those guys are Top 30 all-time in career points (1, 2, 19, 28). Khan is Nova's 5th all-time leading scorer. Donvill...

Re: Maryland 2024

I think Tillman is a little too cautious with this team. Also, people speak in generalizations with him and his mindset too much. From 2011-2015, it was that all he cared about was stalling and didn't know how to coach offense by letting players play....and then he got Rambo and Kelly and Heacock a...

Re: Maryland 2024

It shouldn't have been surprising to see Smith take Erksa instead of Kilrain, who'd been taking the opponents' top dodger for a few weeks now. Erksa struggles with physical defensemen who can run well enough to at least keep a stick in his gloves. Usually, when you get a physical defender, you eithe...

Re: UVA @ Syracuse Sat. 4/20 2 pm

Spallina the most overrated recruit/player in the history of lacrosse? Saying a guy that completely disappears against top competition is one of the best 25 players is wildly insulting to kids that actually produce. Zero points and 2 turnovers today. Be careful. Some people are going to get big mad...

Re: UVA @ Syracuse Sat. 4/20 2 pm

Sorry … but having watched Shellenberger and O’Neill multiple times this season, Shelly’s ceiling is higher and he is a more versatile player. DocBarrister He's easily the best player in the nation, and it irrationally annoys me that O'Neill gets so much more hype. Shellenberger does everything at ...

The Nits need more consistent FOGO play. It's going to bite them in the post-season.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Yes - no chickens to be counted until a little after 6 PM day after tomorrow. Many of the same players from last year's two games. Maryland obviously made better adjustments than Hopkins the second time around - in the first game Maryland's scoring was Erska/Maltz + 3 goals - in the BIG Semis Maryl...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Two questions for you, Wheels (or other Terp fans): 1. Why would the Terps defense be ground down when Weirman wins 60% of his FO’s? I’d think they’d speed up offense getting that many extra possessions. 2. Weirman imo scores an abnormally low number of goals for a dominant FOGO. Why? Is he under i...

Re: Maryland 2024

It's Hopkins week. The last regular season game. 3 game win streak in hand, time to live up to our name. THE Maryland Terrapins, a storied program. Let's come back from Homewood, B1G trophy in hand. Relying on our seniors is our key to Saturday's victory. A win will mean strong performances from Za...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024

Maryland’s best wins are against Syracuse, Penn State, Richmond, and Princeton. Great FO crew. None of the Terps have monster numbers on offense, but plenty of players who can score goals. The D and goalie play are solid, but less imposing compared to recent seasons. Blue Jays are probably favored ...

Re: Coaches On The Hot Seat 2024

JL Reppert inherited a really crummy situation up at Holy Cross, but things don't look improved at all. He's been through a ton with his wife's medical situation, too. But being one of the worst D1 teams can't go on for too long up there.

Re: Big Ten 2024

There would be a lot more scoring if all the teams in the league didn't have great goalies. There are a lot of questionable goals being scored in Acc games due to poor goalie play. According to LaxRef, Maryland's goalie play ranks 5th in the conference. And 15th overall in the nation. Michigan rank...

OSU's defense is no joke.

Their offense is not very good, but that defense has been elite this season.

Re: Maryland 2024

When Patrick Stevens does his next bracket this week, he's going to pare down the number of possible at-large teams in the pool. Princeton out with the loss to Brown. Rutgers out. Michigan out. Army out. Georgetown hanging on by a thread but since so few teams have worth at-large resumes, they're ha...
