Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List

The criteria for Kraus over Moore is eye test/per game production over overall production. Moore had better numbers than Kraus because Kraus missed several games with injuries (and played several more at much less than 100%). Kraus is the better and more important player for UVA at this point in tim...

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List

First team selection should be held for those players who’s entire year was played at the highest level. There are some 2,500 D one lacrosse players many who have/are playing great lacrosse. It’s not a slight against UMass to say their 2 players are not 1st teamers due to the fact you are suppose t...

Re: Notre Dame 2019

This Notre Dame squad is by far the best 7-5 (before yesterday's win) squad I have ever seen. How have they lost 5 games this year? Their offense can be electric with that many ISO dodgers. If the Duke FOGO hadn't started winning FO's in Q4, this game was going to be a blowout. Costabile is a first...

Re: Inside Lacrosse All American List

Don't know why UMASS is catching richocet shots on this thread. It's a team game, so no reason that losing to Drexel should disqualify them from having two players on the first team. Especially since both of those players were on the defensive side of the field -- UMASS had one of the best defenses ...

Re: Cornell 2019

I'd argue at the margin that there has been some anti Teat bias because of his low-key profile versus his skill level. Or he just didn't have a Tewaarton nomination-worthy season this year. Great player who set the bar very high after his sophomore campaign, but he's 14th in pts in D1 this year (sa...

Re: New England West-1 2019

I don't see the Sessa comparison, as Johnson is definitely more skilled and a better shooter than Joey (Sessa is perfectly fine at his size by the way, as he is short, but solidly built). Let's not forget that Johnson is still just a sophomore -- Pat Spencer grew tremendously between his sophomore ...

Re: VIRGINIA Lacrosse

Robert Morris gave Maryland a game in the NCAAT. UVA may not make it to Philly, but they will make it past RMU. Think UVA can not only make Philly but make finals. They are playing very well and there is no opponent in their brackets including nemesis Duke that they cant beat Kraus's health is the ...

Re: VIRGINIA Lacrosse

Funnily enough that is the facet of goal-tending where Burkinshaw has the clearest edge. I did not watch the full game, but Rode is not typically considered a strong outlet passer, whereas Burkinshaw excels at it.

Re: Today's Interesting HS Boys Games

Chaminade's win over Manhasset only reaffirms the fact that high school lacrosse is currently run by prep/private schools who can recruit. Manhasset may be the best Public school in the country yet got dominated by Chaminade who made the win look quite effortless. Think that game says more about Ch...

Re: Connecticut 2019

The EXACT OPPOSITE of kids leaving publics to go private would be kids who would normally be going to private schools instead attending GC and Manhasset. Since there are no kids who would by default be attending private school, the exact opposite could NOT be happening. Perhaps you mean fewer kids ...

Re: Connecticut 2019

The Suffolk A schools all have way more kids than the CT publics. Not remotely a fair comparison (except for Greenwich, which has massive enrollment loses far more kids to privates than anyone else). It's a numbers game and they can weather losing a kid or two far more easily than schools with half ...

Re: Connecticut 2019

They played well, but Darien will not be pleased to go 0-2 in a front of a national audience. They really should have held on to win yesterday's game, and I imagine a split would have been palatable. Brameier deserves a ton of credit for his offense. It doesn't matter who graduates -- that offense i...

Re: Connecticut 2019

Darien will always be a solid lacrosse team, but starting to look like their reign as the top dogs are over... With the sport of lacrosse growing more and more every year, teams from all over the area are catching up to Darien. Also, doesn't help that some of Darien's best players are at Wick and l...

Re: Massachusetts

The top MA public (at the moment) losing by 10 isn't a great look, but between the Catholic Conference, ISL, Andover/Exeter/Dexter/Pingree etc. eastern MA bleeds out as much relative talent from the town programs to private schools as anywhere, and certainly more than LI. It's not on the same level...

Re: HS Boys National and Regional Rankings

The point is that beating Kent should give you a small fraction of Points compared to when you beat Hill. The #11 team has beaten #1 and #6 and their only loss is to #2 and they're #11? MOV matters. But Ws and Ls matter more. The FanLax was up and running immediately. the issue was/is that the Rank...

Re: HS Boys National and Regional Rankings

To each their own. Which is why it's great that we have numerous options. Personally, especially after yesterday's game, LB/LN's Brunswick at #1 and Hill at #11 doesn't hold water but, again, to each their own. Hill beat the current #1 (and #6), their only loss is to the #2, and... They're #11. I d...

Re: HS Boys National and Regional Rankings

Admin you're looking at the regional rankings for Laxnumbers, not the national rankings. Choate is #21 on the national rankings and Taft is #36, which still seems a tad high, but less egregious on the whole. There isn't much transparency in the IL ratings system but for Laxnumbers the math is on the...

Re: HS Boys National and Regional Rankings

Well the differences in our philosophies rears up again here because I came away thinking that their rankings look pretty good (FWIW your's also looks much improved after the latest updates). There are a few head scratchers that stand out right away (Bullis too low, for example), but upon first glan...

Re: HS Boys National and Regional Rankings

I think the difference is that you're speaking on the team's brand while I'm speaking to the team's performance thus far in 2019. You're speaking in general, I'm speaking to Ws and Ls. Being the top team in NJ is meaningless if a team in NJ hasn't beaten a top team in the nation. Same for St. Seb. ...
