Re: NCAC 2023

Gopher- My apologies for mistaking a good old-fashioned verbal extravaganza for ChatGPT. Express yourself freely on this board! But let us all remember that brevity is an important component of good writing. Furthermore, let us spell Denison properly; they’ve certainly earned that. Lastly, we can’t ...

Re: NCAC 2023

That makes sense, but I think the way SOS is calculated for selection doesn’t factor in opponents rankings, it’s just win-loss records of your opponents and their opponents. They also look at regionally ranked wins. All that said, if Owls lose in the final but still get into the tourney, expect some...

Re: NCAC 2023

Weird ChatGBT comments have entered the chat?

Taking it back to very simplistic terms, does Kenyon get in to the NCAA tourney if they lose in the NCAC final? I think their record and a win over Denison would get them in, but there are 5–10 other teams fighting for an at-large bid.

Not to turn the spotlight away from Denison…but what’s up with OWU, Oberlin, the Owls, etc? (PS Go Owls)

Re: Lake Forest = New Program

I dimly recall my freshman season at Kenyon included a long bus ride from central Ohio to Lake Forest. I didn’t realize the program had lapsed...it was a nice campus, nice field, and seemed like a good place for Midwest lacrosse. This would have been early ‘90’s so i guess they folded it up a few ye...

Re: NCAC 2020

I’m a long time NCAC fan, hoping for more parity in the conference someday. While I love seeing Denison and OWU succeed... any word on Kenyon, Witt, Wooster, Oberlin this year?

Re: PLL Catch All

Agreed that the stats could be more accurate and more thorough. It seems they’ve dedicated more money to the look and feel (broadcast, replay, social media). But, that might be necessary to gain exposure. The exposure is working with the young players I know. My son and his friends started watching ...

Re: PLL Catch All

PLL Playoff format actually pretty good, and the coverage has been great. They need to do more to get butts in the seats, but the product has been good. Caveat- I have a 10-year old lax-rat son who replays games constantly. He’s hungry for lax to watch. College games just aren’t available- I tried t...

Re: Next Big D1

This thread has been equal parts confusing and informative, but I love the discussion. Earlier there was talk of P5 schools that added D1 lax in the past 40 years. I think Ohio State was left off that list. I know they went D1 in the early 90’s because they killed us (D3 Kenyon) in a scrimmage the y...

Re: PLL Launch (Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2)

I’ve never been a fan of previous pro lacrosse leagues, but I have to say I’m enjoying PLL. I’m not saying it’s without flaws, but I’m impressed with the talent they’ve assembled, and the coverage has been great. Some positives: 1) I like seeing players I remember from years past playing with and ag...

Darien was up on Staples 8-3 going into 4th. Didn’t stay for the end. Long scoring drought for Staples, they were up 3-2 at one point if I remember correctly.

BC High vs Wellesley is a 12th seed vs a 13th seed. D1 South is a deep bracket!

Re: Massachusetts

Can anyone confirm the result of Wellesley vs Newton North? BostonLax shows NN as the victor but the MIAA bracket shows Wellesley advancing.

Assume MIAA is correct.

Re: NJ 2019

Outsider here, but in town this week and might go to Kean on Weds for some lax.

So, barring an upset, it looks like it’s setting up to be Mountain Lakes in a rematch against Delbarton, the team that’s handed then their only two losses?

Re: NJ 2019

As a Mass guy, I’m continually impressed by the unsung awesomeness of NJ lax, and especially the Tournament of Champions. It seems like an amazing format that doesn’t get enough credit- these kids play in some crazy competitive sections and then play on in a state tourney? That mixes public and priv...

Quiet on the board- big game coming! The last quarter of UNC vs Orange is worth a watch. UNC is building something, they are just a step behind.. Casual UVA fan here, enjoying the trajectory of the team. I always watch the games and keep a eye out for Dziama and Herring, good Mass boys. I’m impresse...

Re: TV Announcers Consternation Station

Wow, Boyle is very good. He makes it fun, isn’t afraid of some silence, and adds a ton of value on his game explanation. He talks in sports terms that translate well to other sports, without making direct comparisons...”he’s like the LeBron James of lacrosse!” and so forth. I think he’s in a sweet s...
