Re: MIAA "A" Conference 2024

Mcdonogh beat St Thomas Aquinas 15-5 Boys Latin beat St Andrews 19-9 Both scores impress me as both Florida schools have very good athletes and also good lacrosse players. (this board needs more miaa folks posting; I don’t know the schools like you folks) I believe that Gilman beat Norfolk Academy ...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************

I enjoyed following the St. Paul's-Garden City rivalry develop over the years. It was interesting. Sp won the first five games, then GC won the last four before the Sp coach retired and the tradition died. They played at home sites, at Princeton, in GC, and in Manhasset. Wish they could rekindle th...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************

Picks for today...close games BL @ McD - Lakers 12-10 Severn @ MSJ - Gaels take this one 8-7 StM @ Loyola - Saints squeak it out, 9-8 Spalding @ StPaul's - Crusies win 10-6 Gilman @ JC - Patriots edge 7-6 I like McDonogh by 3 even without #9. BL's offense has struggled against good teams. Severn's ...

Re: ***********The MIAA "A" Conference 2023**************

Lots of rumblings and rumors flying around about senior transfers from other areas heading to the MIAA A...BL, McD, CHC leading the pack. If you watched the NHSLS games on ESPN, you might have caught Shriver talking about the kid from GA playing for BL in the summer event. Seems like a strong indic...

Re: MD Public 2022

I am going to vent for a second. The Kelly award. For the “best” lax player in Maryland. The same kid won it two years in a row. And his team got beat pretty bad two years in a row in the playoffs. And this player had a big part in the loss. I would think give it to a kid that was consistent throug...

Re: BOY'S HIGH SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT PROBABILITIES

The MIAA and IAC in MD/DC region are entirely separate leagues. There may be a couple intra-conference games every year, but they do not compete for the same championship. Not sure why IL and other sites insist of lumping them together. https://miaasports.net/lacrosse/ http://www.iacathletics.com/sp...

Re: MD Public 2022

Half way through the season. My predictions for state finals matchup 4A. Broadneck v Churchill 3A. Severna Park v Catonsville 2A. Kent Island v Hereford Interesting that some schools haven’t been tested yet. And might not until playoffs Average ranking of opponent, best opponent, best win Severna P...

Hereford plays at Calvert Hall today. Not an enviable position to be in after CHC got thumped by St. John's.

Re: When will HS Lacrosse be back?

I have a child in elementary school in an area private school. They are working closely with the county health department tracking cases, etc. He has been in-person 5 days a week since school started in September, with the exception being the requisite virtual days immediately following the Thanksgi...

Re: Maryland Public Schools

It would seem that if this outbreak is controlled in the coming weeks that the MPSSAA has not ruled out resuming competition. Perhaps wishful thinking, but they’ve gone to the trouble of publishing a memo today. The MPSSAA fully supports the leadership of the Maryland State Department of Education (...

I hope I am wrong, but probably all of them.

Re: ~The MIAA “A” 2020~

Gilman vs. Ponte Vedra . Starts at 4. I was there and it was a very well played game by both sides. VERY impressed with Ponte Vedra; whole bunch of really strong athletes, fast ball movement and smart play. Excellent goalie, a bunch of fast aggressive poles, and some very good midfielders. Seriousl...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020

Does anyone know of the staff recruited goalie Ross Blumenthal at Drexel? Started as a freshman. The Sun wrote an article on him last year. Bryant was the only other DI school that recruited him. If Hopkins would have expressed interest, no doubt he would have been a Jay. His dad is a huge JHU supp...

Re: Maryland Public Schools

Getting close. Just over two weeks until the teams hit the practice fields. I'll take a stab at Howard County. I think it will be wide open this year. Lots of talent graduated in 2019. 1- Glenelg 2- Centennial 3- Howard 4- Marriotts Ridge 5- Mt. Hebron 6- Atholton 7- River Hill Rest of the pack I'm...

Don't overlook a talented and well-seasoned Dulaney team, with terrific leadership. This could be the year for the Lions! My prediction for top 5 in Balt. Co. - 1. Dulaney 2. Hereford 3. Catonsville 4. Towson 5. Perry Hall or Franklin Given what Hereford returns, I don't see Dulaney jumping them. I...

Add Coach Burke to an already strong CHC staff. He did a terrific job with a talented group at THS for the past two years. Helped to bring the alums back into celebrate a proud tradition. He has a lot more to work with at his alma mater and was looking for a new challenge in the MIAA. Conversely, T...

Re: Loyola University Lacrosse 2020

Really excited for this ‘20 class to get on campus, especially on the defensive side. Bean is a bigger, athletic kid who is still pretty raw, and has tons of potential. The kid from hill is very highly regarded, and is seen as one of the most underrated recruits in the class. Saffin should be a ver...
