Re: Duke Vs. Penn State Semifinal-05/27 @ Noon
Having a hard time seeing an official call a push on that. It wasn't there. Maybe, and unlikely, if you mean the contact before he turns around to face the cage, but that's it. Yeah, I understand that it's not enough of a push that's going to get a flag, but I also don't see Leadmon stepping on tha...

Re: Duke Vs. Penn State Semifinal-05/27 @ Noon
And if you're saying that the goal would've counted if the refs had thrown a flag for the push, then why is there near-universal agreement that this was a bad call instead of people asking whether the refs should've thrown a flag for the push from behind? Maybe they screwed up just as bad by not fla...

Re: Duke Vs. Penn State Semifinal-05/27 @ Noon
If it doesn't matter that a guy got pushed into the crease, then why don't defenders just push an offensive player into the crease anytime the offensive players get near it? bc the goals now count if it was deemed a push (into goalmouth, not just crease). and if they don't score, the push is served...

Re: Cuse@Duke 3/25@1900hrs
Does anyone know what the call was when it appeared Kennedy got the turnover but the ball was given back to Duke and they scored the go ahead goal? Seems like everyone was confused. Strange situation that preserved a Duke possession which led to an important goal. The refs initially acted like a ti...

Re: Duke 2021
Obviously it hasn’t been a problem and while it appears that ONeill is as good as advertised, does it make sense for him to have 10 shots, the next most shots being 9, 6, 3 on a team that has a ton of weapons? Is this healthy in the next year or two when some of the overload my thin a little and th...

Robertson wasn't dominant enough in recent years to displace Williams.

Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
Duke's D really took over in the second half. They just kept stopping DU when the Pios needed goals. JT knocked down a few passes that turned into critical stops. And DU's EMO was atrocious. Sounds like they've only scored two EMO goals this season. Duke's man down D was part of the story too. I see...

Re: Ivy League 2021
No easy calls these days...Hopkins shut down all in-person campus activities this week for 2 days due to an outbreak caused, reportedly, by an off-campus party at the football frat; appears contained for the moment...if an outbreak spreads rapidly, all bets are off for sports. Variants that are mor...

Re: Recruiting Thread: D1-D2-D3-NAIA-MCLA
OK, I'll jump in. I'm no expert but have been through the process. Who is more influential: HS coach or club coach? Was going to say club coach, but I think it depends on who is better known and who has the better relationship with the college coach. How meaningful are prospect days? Does the level ...

Re: Ivy League 2021
So, some are simply deciding to take the term off from school altogether, under the assumption that they'll take a 5th year term instead. Which isn't a terrible idea as it also gives some opportunity to do an internship in the other term...and given how difficult doing those have been during Covid,...

Re: Ivy League 2021
Dartmouth has no freshmen in the first half of the spring (winter trimester) then no juniors in the second half (keeping on campus density down)...others may or may not be on campus. They'll play internally to the extent they can and if any games are allowed externally they'll play whoever is on ca...

Re: ACC 2021
Wish ACC would add another team to match BIG 6 and receive a AQ from tourney. Weakest team in acc this year could be final four caliber but sit out ACC been open to adding another team but nothing has come forth to fit criteria. Is anyone aware of any candidates that have been declined? Some writer...

Re: Ivy League 2021
Won't kids in the ACC, for example, who have an extra year of eligibility be able to use that at an Ivy if they choose? So some kid who is a junior now at UNC could graduate from UNC next year and enroll at an Ivy in grad school and play for that Ivy in the season of 2023? My point is that it's not ...

Re: Denver@Duke 2/5@1500 hrs.
To answer my own question, the folks on the DU thread are saying that TD may join the team as early as mid-February, which means he won't be playing tis weekend against Duke.

Re: Ivy League 2021
In most conferences, every kid who played last year will get an extra year if he wants it. That means you could have this backup of 5th year players through the 2024 season. I see it affecting recruiting until then.

Re: Transfer Portal
This post has nothing to do with Hartshorn. Just a thought that popped into my head. There has been talk that the cost of a 5th year will impact players’ decisions. I suspect that at least some of that thinking has been from the perspective of what the cost would be in a “normal” world. Many famili...
