Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~
Whoooooooaaaaaa doggies! What a finish! Towson is a good team. Let's hope this win gets the Hounds back on track. I've never seen a Loyola team struggle so badly with clearing and turnovers as this team has in its last 4 games. That stuff is fixable. And it's nice to see we have another option at FO...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~
Loyola fans, I am sorry about what's about to happen this coming Saturday. This post did not age well. Great day at Ridley today! I was pleasantly surprised by a very complete game from the Hounds. The offense was clicking extremely well, with lots of players partaking in the action. The defense lo...

Re: Programs with an Identity, Programs without
How about this. Do you consider a team a Blue blood if they haven’t won a NC? What if your last one is more than 10-15yrs old? That counts in my book What about further, like Army/Navy/Cornell/Towson? Or simply whats the list? Where's the cutoff on time? While I'm setting you up to F with me, would...

Re: ~Loyola University Greyhounds 2024~
Great start and finish to the ‘23 season for the hounds. Forgettable middle. Fantastic core of talent set to return for 2024. Plenty to be excited about. Who is coming back from injury? Brown? Any others? Any faceoff help in the pipeline/portal? I'm really looking forward to seeing McGorry and Dixo...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Mcgorry, Hugh brown and Jacob Sullivan all coming back from injury should help bolster the midfield a bit. Lineup changes and discussions always welcome! Heuston lindsay and higgins are the 1st line after this season. Once higgins recovers from his nagging injuries I really hope and think he will c...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Really proud of the way the Hounds finished the season. They showed a lot of character the way they faced 3 opponents who had beaten them previously in the span of 6 days, and came away with 2 wins and a respectable showing against one of the best defenses in the country. Too many players to thank, ...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Both goalies are dialed in. Staudt has been amazing.
Encouraging that we got production from the 2nd middie line.

Can look at a few Hobart games where they gave you big leads. Lehigh and Dartmouth come to mind. Here’s the wrist two I can recall though. https://hwsathletics.com/news/2000/4/15/25620198.aspx https://hwsathletics.com/news/2004/4/17/9765720.aspx Then one classic https://hwsathletics.com/news/2013/4...

Re: Largest Deficits Overcome For Wins By DI Teams So Far In 2023?
Loyola was down 8-1 early last night and came back to beat BU. Could have that been the biggest comeback of the season?

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Anyone smelling Lehigh beating Army tonight? First off, who the hell do we want to win this game?? Which of the two does loyola have likeable chance to win Is it weird to feel better about playing Army over Lehigh? I think Loyola has more of a chance at the dot against Army. Agree. Especially since...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
One of the best comebacks I've ever seen. Congrats to everyone. Clearly a team effort with stellar performances from James and Poitras and many others, but I just have to call out Staudt and his 20 saves. He has put this team on his back in the playoffs. I love it! Go Hounds! Let's hope we get Rezan...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
It's clearly all about possession for the Hounds. During the BU 8-goal run, Loyola rarely had the ball, or when they did, they turned it over. Need to win faceoffs, GBs, and limit turnovers, and we have a chance. BU is playing very clean ball. BTW, both of the 2-minute penalties seem ridiculous to m...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
A bit more lineup shuffling. James and Poitras on attack with Minicus. Heuston, Higgins, and Lindsey on 1st midfield.
Wyers and Staudt are back.

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Before tonight’s game just wanted to give a shout out to the seniors and the grad students on possibly their last playoff tournament run. They’ve all done so much on and off the field. College sports is extremely tough and they’ve managed to do well while balancing loyola academics with its core cu...

Re: Loyola Greyhounds 2023
Wow, I didn’t realize Wyers didn’t play. Who was playing close? Houlihan is out right? Tough if Wyers isn’t playing Tuesday. Yes, Wyers and Staudt did not play. Fairey played close, and Whitaker started in cage. Watkinson played the final ~9 minutes in goal. In my view, it was a similar performance...
